I gotta echo the last post on Dr. Strange.

I've tried watching it twice now and I cant get through it. I know its going to sound ridiculous considering I like the MCU so much and its full of super powers and what not but his powers and story and the explanation of those powers just seem so lame.

For what it's worth Thor: Ragnarok is being helmed by New Zealand director Taika Waititi. His credits include dark comedies like Eagle vs Shark, What we do in the Shadows and more recently the brilliant (and one of the best of 2016 IMO) Hunt for the Wilderpeople.

The movie looks ambitious but I'm actually excited. Never was a huge Thor fan but enjoyed the first two installments and love Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

Maybe not the right thread for this, maybe it is.. I saw Beauty and the Beast on the weekend for date night, I was actually really impressed. I grew up on the Disney Classics but I steered more towards Robin Hood, Sword in the Stone.. but this was very well done.

It got me looking into what is coming down the pipeline and I noticed they have Aladdin set for a remake and to be directed by Guy Ritchie (which I thought was pretty cool). But it got me wondering, with Robin Williams gone, who plays the Genie? Who COULD play the Genie? Can anyone else do it justice?

Jon Favreau is a really good director. That filmography is terrific. Off the top of my head... Elf, Iron Man (2), Jungle Book, Chef... there are some damn good movies in there. Excited for TLK.

Iron Fist - media reviews are negative, but user fans seem to love it. I wonder if media reviews were only based on the first few episodes.

I watched the first three, and have been greatly entertained so far. Great to see Hogarth helping out Danny. Colleen Wing is awesome. I like the layers to the Meachum family.

Yes. Live action with voice actors doing the presumably cgi lions and stuff.

James Earl Jones is gonna play Mustafa again and Donald Glover will play Simba.

Interesting.

Jungle Book had the kid. It'll be good to see how that realistic CGI style carries itself without any live human characters.

I went in with a very cautious outlook, but I've really enjoyed it so far as well. A lot of the reviews seemed to be expecting something different from the first three Marvel series, so maybe the formula is getting a bit stale for them.

If they actually let Guy Ritchie be Guy Ritchie this could be the best Disney movie ever. That King Arthur movie he's doing looks pretty cool.

I think it's great as well. Better than Luke Cage in my opinion. On par with the first season of Daredevil.

Yeah, I'll echo what's already been said; I'm really enjoying Iron Fist.
I've had trouble getting into most of the Marvel shows, but I was bored enough yesterday to give it a try. It hooked me in almost immediately.

Also am liking Iron Fist. Better than Luke Cage
- Can the writing get a bit hokey? Yes
- Do fight scenes pale vs Daredevil's best? Yes
But otherwise still high quality and totally engaging.

I always thought that it was a huge 'miss' not clearly making Zod the hero in BvS and Jor-El the villain. They threw the odd hint of heading that way, in the script, but directed toward tradition.

I'm glad if Micheal Shannon gets another chance to dive into the superhero pool. He can bring depth to any role.

Not really deadpool related but the Ryan Reynolds Jake gyllehaal interviews where none of the reporters can control them are must see TV.

Iron Fist isn't terrible. But it isn't good.

The Choreography is embarrassing, although it gets slightly better as the show moves forward.

Honestly it seems like they rushed it. Colleen Wing was good and the Meechum brother and sister seemed decently acted, but everything else was pretty hokey for the quality that they have had for the other shows in their acting and editing.

Yep. Very unbalanced. Sometimes good, sometimes eye-rollingly bad.
Bad script. Bad editing. Yet, I still like it.
