Very much they're looking at Oilers players...

I think it's Allen or Binnington.

Quoted for probability of accuracy. “Doubt very much” is in my estimation the correct answer.
There are 29 other places to look in the league and roughly 28 of them are less dysfunctional.
Although in fairness, if you want to get technical, he did say ‘looking at’ (not ‘considering’) and if you are watching a game you can’t really avoid seeing them.

Why anyone would want the flames to look at maroon or Allen escapes me entirely.

David Perron was the playmaker on the Neal line last year.

Flames were very close on Maroon during FA. Wouldn't be a surprise to see them circle back to him now. He's the type of player they like/want.
Andy Strickland, Eric Duhatschek and others were reporting this at the time

You know I keep seeing this Maroon=Flames stuff but during the St.Louis game they did a piece on him signing with the Blues and he said only 3 teams came at him. NJ, ARZ and one more that was not CGY. Which tells me this Flames Maroon thing is made up.

My hope is that with the Neal signing and season so far they might finally be giving up on that angle.

Clearly not many people happy with this at the time going off the replies to his tweet. More like this are out there. Can't speak to why he didn't say Calgary but his name was attached to the Flames at the time.

The Flames are currently the third best team in the NHL in goals allowed. Do you really think they are looking at goalies right now? I am doubtful.

Maroon is slow. That would be a crazy move. Schenn, please.

Why not? Smith going down with any sort of injury puts the Flames in the extremely tenuous position of trusting AHL goalies who have not been well at all this year to back up Rittich. Then say Rittich goes down and you're left with Smith. You REALLY don't think they're looking at goalie options? ok.
EDIT: They'd be stupid if they weren't looking at goalie options IMO. You're not promoting any AHL goalie with their body of work so far. And you have to replace Smith for next year. Birds an Stones.

I think Talbot has some game left. He could easily Dubnyk/Schultz them.

I would be stunned if BT isn't looking at goaltending.

2018/2019 Trade Speculation and Rumors
If we end up in a 7 game series against Edmonton or some other team filled with goofballs who are just going to goon it up, we should be a bit bigger. Maroon would fit that mould.
Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Bennett
Frolik - Ryan - Neal
Maroon - Jankowski - Hathaway
Simmonds would still be the king of all rentals in my eyes. He strikes me as a possible playoff power performer.
I do think Tree, if we stay at or near the top of the division/conference, will “reward” the players by acquiring some additional depth up front.

Doesn't hurt to have a bigger player in the wings who can lean on tired teams as the games/series progress thats for sure.
