Great price to lock him up for 4 years. Puts a little cherry on top knowing Larrson got signed by Seattle.

Was hoping the Flames could do a 5 year x 6M. Seems like Boston was the desired location

This is why the Bruins have been good for so long.
They're actually pretty good with contracts.

Great news for us Flames fans, now we can put the horrible idea of signing him to rest.

I’d be much happier if we did this than the inevitable Hyman contract that we’re in for.

5 x 6.5 was what I was thinking he would cost here. Would still easily do that. Boston is getting a steal.

I was hoping for 5 x $5 million with the Flames if he made it to UFA

great deal for Boston. I'd much rather get Hall at 4 x 6 than players like Hyman at the rumoured price.

The best news for the Flames here is that this potentially sets a bit of a market for Gaudreau.

Yes Hall signed in Boston for that, but I'm not so sure thats what Calgary would get him for. He wanted to stay in Boston.

that isn't market - Boston got him on the cheap (assuming the rumour is accurate)

It’s not just the organization, the City has greater appeal than Calgary.

Teams in real “world class” cities have a competitive advantage to most Canadian teams.

Flames, Oilers, Jets, Senators have to overpay.

It is more likely that Boston is always in touching distance of another cup, then how nice the city is.
