Player of the Game Award
Hey Folks,
Does anyone know a place in town that might be able to do up a wrestling belt for our MVP of the game? I'd like to get something out of the ordinary to give out every game, but most trophy places in town don't look like they have that kind of thing in the catalog and the only options I can see are in the states or way to expensive for rec hockey.
Thanks!

Yeah, I've never seen it in Calgary, I wanted one for football. but the cheapest I found was 200 bucks out of the US pre engraving.

A nicely mounted toilet seat can be considered for sh*thead of the game award too. I've seen that done in an adult racquet sports league! It even had a nice plaque, and was "paid forward" from the current holder to their own-voted next holder. So since the league was quite large it took a long time to go from person to person and team to team, which also made it noteworthy and amusing.

Sorry I have to ask what racquet sports have more than 4 participants?
A $hithead of the game seems pretty petty in a 4 person sport.
I get it is in jest.

We would give oline men a very nicely painted thor version of a sledge hammer for player of the game. Then he'd have to bring it to practice and the next game.

My Favorite was someone had found a giant Hornet & cut the ass end out and it held a pint glass perfectly.
The MoM got the Hornet and all others were required to keep it filled all evening.

I love this, but am of no help.
If you decide to scale back the idea, we use a kids WWE title belt and it’s hilarious and awesome.

We used a ridiculously large dildo for "Big #### of the Game" for our rec hockey team. Made for some hilarious jokes.

What about riveting a custom engraved plate(s) to a weight lifting belt? I wonder if you might be able to do that for around $100-150 ish?

my team has a player of the game 'log'.
there is a whole story behind it, but it started life as a piece of firewood in a guy's hockey bag and went from there. we've had it for at least a decade! i laser engraved it and one of the guys brought it back to a game all nice and varnished.
for a while guys would send pics with the log... but that ended up going nasty in a hurry! ha!
the best is at the beginning of the season when there are new players on the team - they see the log for the first time and of course ask about it - the hours of stories that get told are just fantastic!

We used to use just a toy WWE belt for the kids we coached and that was a fun thing. You can probably get something custom 3-D printed for decently cheap and just super glue it overtop of what’s there or something if you wanted to go wild. Do a little crafting.

Love the idea of a Belt.
You just cant hold a trophy the same way like a championship belt
I know it's not my money, but I hope you'll pony up for the couple hundred or so for the belt. It'll be well worth it!

It was a league system so there would be multiple skill-level based teams from a particular club, playing another club. For example, Winter Club versus Edgemont. I don't recall if it was tennis or squash but knowing the squash players and their extreme boisterous mischievousness as well as endless ongoing smack-talk I'd say it was the squash folks who were also known for their end of season parties. So often the toilet-seat "winner" became somewhat of a celebrity for a while and everyone had a good time. This was back in the day before so many people would choose to take offence and initiate cry-baby behaviours on behalf of others.
