Maybe not partying though kit wouldn’t surprise me. But showing up out of shape was Keith’s MO.

He reminds me of how his idol Sidney Crosby looked in this game

Johnston was fired about a month later and suddenly Sid is looking like, well Sid.

Well, obviously they had to go out and get and established NHL coach.

He's not moving his feet. He's losing puck battles because of it and he's resorting to the desperate passes and stick checks.

He's the opposite of Lucic right now.

He’s a shadow of the player that earned the $7M deal. I like Tkachuk, and love the intangibles. But this is a results business, you wanna make the big bucks you need to produce. He’s actually a liability at times which I never would have thought possible. I really hope this is just a blip in his career otherwise we really are ####ed.

He’s played the better part of five seasons with Backlund as his centre. Lindholm is probably better, but he may not be a good fit with Tkachuk. Ward reunited Backlund and Tkachuk last year, guess we wait and see if it happens again...

I think what some people call Tkachuk’s biggest asset - his emotional play - is potentially his biggest weakness. I think he gets too emotional and overreacts. - lots of times in ways that are not productive. Which is what I think the other players were trying to say when they reportedly said it can’t happen every game.

He is maybe a player who lets outside influences like ongoing spats with other players get in the way of his play. He’s possibly an over thinker.

It's honestly seemed to me like ever since the Muzzin play, he's not been himself. The revelation that at the players-only meeting he was called out by his teammates for starting too much trouble after the whistles honestly seems to me like he took that very personally. He's never seemed to me like the kind of guy who seems buddy buddy with his teammates like Rasmus, Mange, johnny, and Mommy are (there are others too), and I've always had the impression that he may be resented by his teammates for his attitude at times.

This is just a hunch but I've studied his body language ever since he's been in the league and he seems discouraged lately, and not just because of his play. Did you see him on the play during the 4th goal (I believe) where he literally took a knee after getting knocked down and watched the goal happen? That was not just getting up slowly after taking a hit (which he did), he took a knee and just watched the entire play.

I love Chucky but Ive really had a bad feeling about that players only meeting and how that may have affected him.

It looks like without knowing everything he cares more than the others do.

On the spittin chiclets podcast Gaudreau even says something like “we didn’t see it we were like man it’s the 4th game of the season” (paraphrasing regarding Muzzin incident).

Well exactly Johnny. That’s the whole god damn problem. It doesn’t matter what game of the season it is. You need to show up and care and show fire. Now to Johnny’s credit, he has. But Tkachuk now isn’t. That’s why he should sit if he’s sulking. But that comment from Johnny really bugged me. Exactly what’s wrong with the attitude of the Flames.

I bet at that players only meeting Tkachuk realized, this group will never do it. Not enough fire pun intended.

JG’s quote was framed a little different IMO. It tended to lean towards that they didn’t see it on the ice, saw the replay when getting off the ice, and didn’t think it warranted quite the reaction (and sounds like it wasn’t the first time Tkachuk had gotten this upset), “but that was MT being MT”.

That and whatever previous similar beef JG mentioned, sounded like it was more a MT personal/individual issue that he reacted to, not a “I’m upset the team lost and now I’m the only one getting emotional”.

He has looked off significantly. Seems to be happy making or trying to make one play a shift and if it doesn’t work out, that’s it, he’s got no confidence. And yeah if that team meeting clipped his wings a bit, he’s likely not in a good space yet.

Lindholm and Tkachuk do not seem to be establishing any chemistry-especially in this Vancouver series.

I said this in another thread and would like to offer it up here

Matthew got himself a nice acoustic guitar, but should have gotten a Les Paul and Marshall stack

Good point

He's not the acoustic type, he needs to crank that bitch up to 11 and annoy some people

Shooting percentage at 5% vs his career 15%. Has a similar amount of shots as Johnny.

Also, maybe he passed the line he’s be towing for so long and become more cockroach than mosquito.

Maybe he needs to be moved. Maybe Bennett isn't the only one who would like a change of scenery.

Wasn't there a mention in the media that the other players told him to stop trying to stir the pot? He can't figure out his game now and has checked out.
