So strange that Rittich is not getting any time other than split squad game?

I would have thought he had the best chance to compete with Lack given his age and SV% in AHL last year.

Is Gillies better than Rittich in practice?

It is almost certain that Gillies won't get any playing time in this game either.

Shaw currently has Centre Ice on free preview. Jets vs Oilers was on Saturday night. Watched without any problems, aside from watching the stupid Oilers. Broadcast may be available. Fingers crossed

It's clear the Flames prefer Gillies over Rittich. They probably like his upside better. I think they need to either trade Rittich or loan him to another AHL team. Give Gillies and Parson the net in Stockton. MacDonald in the ECHL. If Lack craps the bed, then call up Gillies.

I think Parsons should go to ECHL to get tons of playing time. Interesting thought to loan out Rittich in the AHL though. Not too familiar with loaning players, but if you have a goalie go down or called up, how easy is it to get that player on loan back?

I do think the game will be available on Shaw it was 2 years ago when I was with them. Unfortunately Telus doesn't offer the same freebie right now

I don’t know if they like Gillies better... maybe they just want a better look at Gillies right now? Guess we will find out soon

Very hard to find a spot to loan a goalie in the AHL. Most teams have their own prospects.

Don't know why you need to trade Rittich either. Maybe he becomes something and he's getting paid nothing. Parsons will be fine playing a year in the ECHL.

What is the Flames situation regarding finding spots for goalies in the ECHL? Do they have a guaranteed #1 spot for him? Would MacDonald be his backup on the same team?

The Flames have an ECHL affiliate in Kansas City but my understanding is they have to keep a goalie already contracted to the team, so its likely that club will have 3 goalies but only play two (Parsons getting the lion's share of the starts I'm sure)

DEFENCEMEN

4 - Tyler Wotherspoon

26 - Michael Stone

42 - Juuso Valimaki

44 - Matt Bartkowski

54 - Rasmus Andersson

61 - Brett Kulak
Clearly, this is the "who wants to be the 6/7 dman opening night" final tryout.

I'd suspect it just boils down to money. You take this guy and we'll pay you $X.

And if these guys can't beat out other ECHL goalies for a #1 job then we've got bigger troubles.

I've got Rogers and I get free Gamecentre with it but I'm not sure it's going to be on it. That system has become more and more restrictive.

It should be available on Gamecenter anywhere outside of Jets region. I think.
I pay zero attention to the NHL's archaic blackout restrictions. I pay for Gamecenter and use this as my license to view any game anywhere by any means available. If this makes me a pirate, argh matey.

Just looked at Rogers NHL Live and I don't think they are carrying any preseason games. Dumb.
