Heh, I watched the American Vandal show this weekend because I was sick. Had some good chuckles over some childish humor. Actually thought it was well done in its satirical method.

I can't believe such an utterly useless show has been allowed to be go on for an additional 3 seasons. Does anybody involved have any sense of shame??

Time: Kalief Browder Story has been very good. Just finished the first couple of episodes of this documentary about this adolescent sent to Rikers Island in NY when he was 16 and held there for 3 years without a trial.

I nearly didn't make it through the trailer, and I like everything.

Yeah, I was pretty much trying to find a reason to post a Bobby the Brain animated gif and fuller house seemed as good of a reason as any.

Pretty significant injection into Canadian programming by Netflix but I do wonder at what cost. Hard to think they are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts and at the end of the day I have to think consumers will pay for this via increased subscription charges.

I wouldn't mind if they put some of the already made Canadian content onto Netflix. Surely CBC could sell "Made in Canada" or "Beachcombers", or even some of the "Anne of Green Gables" type stuff.

The latest Anne of Green Gables show is already a co-production with Netflix and is available on Netflix outside of Canada under the title Anne with an E.

Ugh. CanCon requirements for Tv/Radio/anything are just terrible IMO.

I sure hope the government doesn't go down the path of making Netflix meet these requirements as is rumored.

Can Con rules allowed terrible shows to survive.

Man the Beachcombers was terrible.

The nostalgia factor would be huge.

It would still be better than a lot of the TV series that are on Canadian Netflix right now though (I am looking at you 'Full House')

I think you'd be amazed at how far reaching Canadian programming goes internationally.

I was in Italy visiting my wife's family and they were watching Heartland. Anne of Green Gables is huge in Asia. Mr. D, Corner Gas and few other shows have great international followings.

Netflix is smart. They'll likely receive some tax incentives for the productions they film here and they'll be able to air the programs in every country they stream to. Like the article said, $500 million over 5 years is just 1.42% of the $7 billion they're planning to spend this year.

It will never stop blowing my mind that Corner Gas is a global hit, you can currently find it on air in 26 different countries (according to wiki).

There's actually a pretty big global market for the kind of clean, family-friendly shows Canada makes.
