The Good Place

Surprised to see it back for a new season, I thought it had been cancelled.

They kicked off season 2 tonight.

After last seasons reveal that it was a bad place basically stocked by demons and it was designed so the four occupants would torture itself, all of the main human characters had their memories erased and Michael tried to keep them from each other.

I was surprised that they figured out that this was the bad place so quickly and Michael had to reset to version 3 and lied to his boss about doing it.

Even though Eleanor had her memory erased, its clear that she had kept some of her changes from season one. Whereas Tahani couldn't keep up with her phony personality from last year and quickly basically became Eleanor.

I loved that the people in the Good Place that are there to help torture these people are basically rebelling against the concept, including Eleanors new soul mate who's former job was twisting people until they broke in half, its also clear that they miss the penis flattener.

Overall this show is really well acted and both Bell and Danson are really relishing their characters. It was also good to see that phony Eleanor played by Tiya Sinclair (Sabine from Rebels) is a spoiled actress complaining about her new role.

I'm glad to see this show get another shot.

I think that part of it is when you look at her she's cute and looks adorable and she's got a complete sewer mouth.

Tahini was great in that episode we finally saw her true character. She's a girl that was always over shadowed by her sister and because of that needed to be noticed and thought of as this paragon of virtue who did these incredible things. So suddenly Michael made someone else better and she lost her nut.

I also love that Michael's goal is to make this perfect nasty torture chamber and the only people really being tortured are Michael and all of the other workers.

I love Kristen Bell, but wasn't a huge fan of this pilot last year. Based on all the buzz about S2 I'm going to rewatch the pilot and go from there.

I'm still loving this show, I think its one of the better concepts on TV right now and is this great combination of comedy and philosophical debate about ones actions.

I think they finally got to the core of the show tonight when Elenor was sent back to her life at the moment that she was killed, but she was saved and decided that she needed to be a better person but in the end she basically slid back to her old self.

But it discussed the concept of Moral Dessert, the idea that people expect that if you do a good deed that you should gain some kind of reward, which is actually a selfish reason to do a good deed.

I love this show, Kristen Bell is amazing in it, and Ted Danson is just a lot of fun.

The bar brawl was awesome in last nights show, and even funnier was Elenor getting horny while watching the fight.


Bell is so good in that role.

I don’t think there’s a connection. It wouldn’t be the first time Calgary has been referenced on a show when they need a “middle of nowhere” location.
