I feel like I'm not going to get any work done today. I have family that live in Oregon and the level of anxiety is insane. C'mon American, you can do this!

I'm worried.
worried that Trump will outright win, and worried that trump will be losing in a close race and yet again subvert democracy.
I don't even believe in any gods, but I'm praying to them that Biden wins in a landslide.
Norse gods, Roman gods, Alanis Morissette, the whole lot of them.

NPR is always a good source. Also, Bloomberg has a good comprehensive results page that's updated as data comes in. I remember following it in horror in 2016.

The upshot (New York times) will have 3 needles this years Florida, Georgia, South Carolina. These states all count the mail in vote in advance. And will count relatively quickly.

If Biden loses these states by less than 2-3 points or so everything should be fine.

Haha - does Trump announce a vaccine today and offer to inject only those who vote for him?

That would be an interesting strategy given that his voters don’t want to be vaccinated- he’d either get 100% or 0% of the vote!

This made me lol, but will trump even know? His staff don’t let him see negative polls.
It seems likely he will be informed on the election results like he is informed on all things: Fox News, OANN and Qanon.

Dual citizen here (lived in US as a kid and for school), first time voter. I could go on a long winded rant about the importance of today, but I'll just say to America, show up and do your job today. I miss you America and it'd be cool if we could hang out again some time.

I can accept an outright win, because that's what democracy means.
What worries me is Trump not accepting a loss, and turning the process, and with that, the entire country, into chaos.

I'm hoping for the best, but also expecting the worst, just 'cause it's 2020 and all. Also, this is America we're talking about and there's a good chance that their stupid outdated electoral college system will f*** it all up for the entire country...and the planet for that matter.

I think so. Not because he's a despicable human being, but because he doesn't respect democracy and the institutions of government.
And he hasn't just ignored or disrespected the institutions, he wants to change or eliminate them. He is a very real threat to democracy.
And I think that's a pretty big deal.

Last time he offered a "vaccine" it started with Hydro and it ended with quining off a few of his voters.
