Default Canadian Men's Basketball - Olympic Qualifying and U19

Sorry, searched the forum and couldn't seem to find a thread for men's basketball qualifying...

Despite missing two of their most import pieces due to injury in Jamal Murray and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Canadian team has looked really good so far.

Big test coming up Saturday versus the Czechs...should be a good one

Does only the winner of this tournament qualify for the Olympics?

Not only that, but lose and you have nother other path to qualify.

It’s been a treat hearing Dan Shulman call the games.

what's even more exciting, is that the kids on the senior team now are really a part of the Carter Effect... and that continues to build with three 5* top 10 players (this is how college players are ranked...in basketball, usually only 25 or so kids are considered as 5* players) coming up in the next few years

https://www.si.com/nba/raptors/news/...asses-rankings

This will surely amplify in the upcoming years with the Raptors championship

Halcyon days for Canadian Basketball

Heartbreaking loss but on the bright side these kids got to play together and gain some valuable FIBA experience. Plus arguably their two best players weren't there. 2024 Canada medals in Basketball

yeah...its tough. Just frustrating that the sense of urgency didn't kick in until late.

Proud of the team for the fight they showed, especially at the end...

Close games are heartbreaking because its a rebound here, a shot there, no taking a reach in foul...

I think Lombardi said it best..."its a game of inches"...that last shot was in and then rattled out...

tough loss
