Gasquet takes the opening set in a tie-breaker (8-6 was the score). Vasek was up 5-3 in the tie-breaker, but some errors creeped up at the worst time.

Vasek breaks Gasquet to take a 3-2 lead in set 2. He really has been the better player in this match.

Vasek now up a double break serving at 5-2 in set 2. Gasquet saving himself for the 3rd set, but he looks to be running on fumes to me.

Vasek breaks to start set 3 - On fire at the moment.
Edit: Now up a double-break. Questionable line call (no Hawkeye at this tourney), Gasquet forehand looked to hit the line, was called out and the umpire did not overrule.

Vasek a service hold away from bagelling Gasquet who is noticeably limping out there now.

That's a typical Gasquet meltdown. I know he's had a good career but that really is a talent wasted.

Also, live rankings has Vasek at #61, but if he can claim his first title on Saturday, it will propel him inside the top 50.

Jannik Sinner takes the opening set 6-4. Vasek is playing well, just the early break of serve is the difference. The young Italian kid is going to be a future top 10 player.

Real trouble now as Sinner breaks to start set 2.
Edit: Vasek breaks back at love and didn't really do all that much. Just a bad game from the Italian.

We need a third set as Vasek takes set 2 6-3. Anybody's match at this point, Sinner was playing some fantastic tennis and all of a sudden, he just lost the plot.

Sinner takes it in the tie-breaker winning it 7-3. Hold your head high Vasek, you played some fine tennis today (actually won more points than Sinner did in the match).
