I'd hold off on opinions about the Phaneuf-Leo pairing until at least after next game. Leopold's only had about 2 days of real downtime for probably the last 3 weeks. Let's wait and see how he performs after he's recovered from his 12-game road trip.

Thank God. Vandermeer can at least be kept to 8 minutes of ice time on the fourth line.

4-3 Flames in OT

Scorers will be Jokinen x2, Moss and Iginla getting the OT winner

Just play Phaneuf as a forward already. The guy obviously wants to play as a forward and not as a defenseman!

(seriously, I would like to see that)

Betcha he just played Pardy as the forward in practice to play some Mike Keenan mind games. Vandermeer will probably play forward tonight I suspect...

Me too.

I think Dion at forward would be a blast to watch just one game.

He started as a forward for a game in Colorado last year. He also played forward on the powerplay the game before then, to stand in front of the net.

I predict a win by the Flames but not a blowout win. Probably a 3-2 or 4-3 score. St. Louis is desperate and they can score but the Flames feel they need the points just as badly with Wankcouver refusing to play ball and lose some games for us. I definately see Vancouver holding off that spot from Chicago and securing home ice for the first round even though it turns my stomach

Speaking of which, they better get back to having moss in front of the net on the powerplay, the short time it was used on the road trip seemed to work quite well.

I'd like to see more of it to see if it was in fact working or just coincidence.

Flames need to take the boots to St Lou. I want a 4-1 or 5-2 Flames win. Iggy and Olli Cammy lets see some goals.

Yeah, Moss on the PP, first unit, was a thing of beauty. Mixmaster Mike really needs to get back to that.

Blues could be hard to handle tonight.

If not a 5-2 Flames win... then a Flames win 4-3 in O/T...

Moss has what like 9 PP goals in how many minutes of ice time on the PP. I would hazzard a guess that he's the most productive goal scorer per minute of PP time on the team by a long shot. At times I admit that I wish the team would try something like putting Moss, Conroy, Glencross with Sarich and Regehr on the PP in those games where they're struggling. See if having a simpler approach would yield results.

Another close game where the Flames play solid defence will make me happy.

3-1 victory, with an ENer.

Game will be streamed on Yahoo! for those in the U.S. or with a proxy (Hotspot shield works great).

I agree, with everything BUT Regehr.

I love the guy, he's a great defensive defenceman, and I stress the defence part, but he has absolutely 0 offensive sense. For such a big guy with a heavy shot, he never, ever, EVER gets the puck on net, and generally hits the defender's shins directly in front of him instead. It is very frustrating when he gets the puck on the point. if he doesn't hit the defender directly in front, he just chucks the puck behind the net, whether there's a guy there to retreive it or not.

Sarich and Vandermeer would be better, IMO, if you wanted to mix it up.

I'm feeling exceptionally optimistic with tonight's game, therefore: 4-1 for the good guys.
Heaven knows we need the points now, I just took a look at Vancouver's remaining schedule. Going to be hard to keep the division when all they have left to play other than us is fluff and the OILERS!
