Default Hockey Prognosticating #14: All-Star Game Special - Congrats devo22

Come to Ottawa and earn some bonus points!

Main competition: Predict the score of the All-Star Game! Team Chara vs. Team Alfredsson!

For example you pick Chara to win 12-9, that's a difference of Chara +3 and total goals of 21. If Chara wins 17-13 then you are penalized 1 point for difference (4>3) and 9 points for total goals (30>21). 1+9=10.

The goal is to get the score exactly right and score ZERO points.

Player with the LEAST points will score 300 HPT points.
2nd place gets 170
3rd place gets 120
4th place 90
5th place 50

You can score more bonus points by filling out this form and PM to me by THU JAN 26 @ 5:30pm Mountain. Get the prediction right and the allocated points in brackets are yours!

-------------------------

All-Star Game Score Prediction:
Team that wins Skills competition (25 points):
Team that wins young guns game (25 points):
Hardest Shooter: (25 points):
Fastest Skater (50 points):
First player taken in draft (100 points):
Last player taken in draft (100 points):
Elimination Shootout (200 points):
All-Star Game MVP (200 points):

---------------------------

This competition is open to everyone. Any questions let me know

How is the score affected if we pick the wrong team to win?

your difference is further.

If you pick Chara to win by 3 and Alfredsson wins by 3, you're charged 6 points.

Can we send in just the ones that are pre-draft... then the others once the teams have been drafted?

I thought the young stars only were doing the skills comp and there wasn't a young stars game.

really? scrap the yuong guns game then.

playfulgenius... no you must send everything at once.. that makes is more fun
I think this way you're sort of guessing along how the teams will be constructed.

You're not trying to win this too are you?

Not really... I'm a bit of a prima donna... I only really show up for the Grand Slam events... it really frustrates my coaches and management team.

What do we put for Elimination Shoot-out... does one player come out the victor, or is it a team thing?

one player comes out the victor.

Quote:
15 participants from each side (one rookie, 11 All-Stars, three goaltenders), compete in a time-honored game of "hockey survivor." Shooters who score will move on to the next round in the shootout, with the All-Star goaltenders rotating after every third shooter. The event will continue until one player scores and the other(s) do not in a single round -- last goal wins.

Enjoy the All-Star Weekend!

I like OffsideSpecialist to get fastest skater correct as well... I forgot about him being at the ASG.

There's no way I could forget about him! We've been getting hit over the head with All-Star game stuff since the beginning of the season, particularly with the Sens players. Those were about the only players I could remember going and I had to look at a list to see who the rest of the players at the game were

Are Campbell and Letang skating backward? If so, how do they win, that seems odds... I wonder if there's a forward winner and a baxkward winner?
