Calgary band Preoccupations have had their gear stolen twice in the last week. They've started a GoFundMe to replace it so they can continue their tour.
Doesn't sound like they do. This happens all the time to small touring bands. I know they don't make a ton of money but I can't imagine coverage is overly expensive.

The Essex Green is back with a new album! I'm always happy when I get something new from the Elephant 6 Collective. What I really want is a new album from one of the founding members of Elephant 6 -- Apples in Stereo, Neutral Milk Hotel or Olivia Tremor Control.

Beach House's new album 7 came out today. Just starting to give it a listen!
Lemon Glow is cool.
New records I like:
Soft Kill - Savior
Illuminati Hotties - Kiss Yr Frenemies
Beach House - 7
Orange Peels - Trespassing
Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks - Sparkle Hard
Dialect - Fuzzy Candle
Speedy Ortiz - Twerp Verse
Parquet Courts - Wide Awake
Iceage - Beyondless
Eureka California - Roadrunners
Eternal Summers - Every Day It Feels Like I'm Dying
DOA - Fight Back
Lawn - Blood On The Tracks
New Aesop Rock. He's been a bit of a recluse lately but finally he has re-emerged with something a lot truer to form than 2017s disappointing (in my opinion) "Hot Dogs". Some clever lyrics sticking out of his usual landslide of words, nothing fancy or flashy, just vintage Aes Rock.

I came in here all excited to post about the new Beach House album, only to find that, even 1 week after the release date, I am WOEFULLY out of touch and late to the scene. I guess that's what happens when you have kids. It's only a matter of time before I start listening to Jimmy Buffett and wearing socks with sandals. Pray for me.
Oh, and listen to Beach House.

Anyone heard of Ocean Alley? Possibly my favourite band at the moment and my last two weeks of music have pretty much been them and Courtney Barnett on repeat.

On Friday, Impulse! will announce the June 29 release of “Both Directions at Once: The Lost Album,” a full set of material recorded by the quartet on a single day in March 1963, then eventually stashed away and lost. The family of Coltrane’s first wife, Juanita Naima Coltrane, recently discovered his personal copy of the recordings, which she had saved, and brought it to the label’s attention.
