The camera angles alone have won me.

Whole aesthetic looks on. point.

Yeah I wasn't totally sold on the first couple trailers but that one was awesome.

I was seeing it either way (because Batman) but now I'm excited.

What's everyone's most anticipated movies for 2022? For me it goes....

DC movies
1) Batman
2) Aquaman 2
3) The Flash
4) Black Adam
5) Super Pets

Marvel
1) Into the Spiderverse 2
2) Dr. Strange 2
3) Black Panther 2
4) Morbius
5) Thor 4

Will the live action DC films (Batman, Flash, Aquaman and Black Adam) have a chance to make more at the box office than the Marvel live action films (Dr. strange 2, Black Panther 2, Morbius and Thor 4)?

Batman is probably the only one that will have a chance. Maybe Black Adam because people love the Rock.

The Flash might do well if it gets good reviews.

The original Aquaman has not aged well. First viewing I was entertained. 2nd time I saw all the flaws and there were too many to ignore. I think the sequel won't get the the same grace period.

BP2 will do huge numbers I think. Not as much as the first but probably their biggest hit of the year. Dr. Strange might do better than the first. Of the live action I'm looking forward to Thor most but only because the director is my favourite. Spider-verse will do excellent as it picked up a lot of fans after the release to streaming.

Morbius looks so bad. I don’t know how anyone is looking forward too it. He was barely interesting in the cartoon and I loved the cartoon.

I don’t understand who’s interested in this and something like Venom if not someone like me. I’m all in on MCU and superhero stuff, but those just look lame and cheesy to me, so I can’t see how casual fans find them interesting enough for them to be making the kind of money Venom does.

The director of Morbius doesn't instil a lot of faith either. Life and Child 44 are bad movies despite having great casts.

Global or Domestic? If global then whoever is better at securing openings in China will win.

For Domestic

1) Batman
2) BP2
3) Dr strange
4) Thor
5) Flash
6) aqua man
7) black Adam
8) Morbius

Marvel makes at least 25% more.

I’m most excited for spider verse, followed by strange and Flash.

Thor tops my list, after what Taika Waititi and Chris Hemsworth did with that character in Ragnarok you can't help but be excited.

Not a chance. DC properties have proven to be very volatile one way or another at the box office, with the exception of Batman, but then we haven't had a solo Batman film since 2012 and that was the finale of a very successful trilogy. I expect 'The Batman' will do quite well but maybe won't be as much of a box office smash as you're expecting.

When you have Wonder Woman 2 and Suicide Squad Reboot tank after very profitable first films, Aquaman 2 is certainly no guarantee to be a repeat success. Flash and Black Adam are likely to play closer to Shazam.

Marvel on the other hand has been extremely consistent at the box office and have always seen consistent growth with their sequels. The only movies to do less than their prequels were Iron Man 2 (by only a few million) and Age of Ultron (by a lot, but it was still a big hit).

Dr. Strange 2 will easily outperform the first movie's $232M gross, while Thor 4 should at least match Ragnarok's $315M. Black Panther 2 will struggle to be as big a hit as the first, which became something of a cultural phenomenon, but it will still do very well (probably a similar situation as Avengers 1 to Avengers 2). Morbius is the only one from the group that's likely to struggle but it might even see a bit of a boost from No Way Home's mega success (I think anything close to or over $100M for it would be viewed as a moderate success).

Yea I think I agree with you guys. If I had to estimate how much each film makes domestically I would guess something like this.

DC
1) Batman - $200-$300
2) Aquaman - $250-300 (this is a Christmas release again and if Avatar 2 misses that date will have not alot of competition.
3) Flash - $160-215
4) Black Adam - $150-200 (this will do really well overseas and less well in North America, much like No Time to Die)

Marvel
1) Black Panther 2 - at least $400 mill. Not having Chadwick Boseman will hurt this, but it's still going to destroy the box office IF it comes out this year. Letitia Wright was injured on set which delayed production.
2) Dr. Strange 2 - being in the biggest movie since the pandemic started will only help Dr. Strange. This should easily pull in over $300 mill
3) Thor 4 - at least $300 mill. the last one was another mega hit for Marvel I see no reason this won't make more than that one.
4) Morbius - this could go either way. Being connected to Spiderman can only help it, but I think this does around $100 mill.

I honestly think Spider-verse will do better than Morbius. Which is typically tough to do for a non-Disney animated movie. I just think the hype around Spider-man and the success of the first will drive it past the < $400 million the first one did.

Totally, I think Spiderverse will do really well. Spiderman always makes bank at the Box office, even the two Amazing Spiderman films made a combined $1.4 billion at the box office.

You know its going to deliver on humour!

Those DC titles look like trash. The Batman feels like a one off from DC's awful formula of drivel that somehow keeps raking in money to fuel sequels, which is exactly why its the only one I'll see.

It actually looks like a fresh/different kind of hero film, and different is what we need more of.

This looks like it could be the best DC property since Wonder Woman, probably since TDK.

Nothing will ever touch Nolan Batman for me.

Some pretty wild yet credible rumors in the DC cinematic Reddit about the new Flash movie.

Hope this doesn't dent Nadal Fan's enthusiasm.
