Andreas Athanasiou update:

On March 3rd he played his 13th game for the Kings, which happens to be the total number of games he played with the Oilers (That 13 games includes the regular season and the play-in round. As we all know, the Oilers did not make the playoffs last year.)

In 13 games with the Kings, 4 goals, 4 assists for 8 points

In 13 games with the Oilers, 1 goal, 1 assist, 2 points

Reminder: Ken Holland traded 2 2nd rounders for Athanasiou then didn't qualify him and he signed as a UFA with the Kings.

Ken Holland is no good.
Edmonton is no good.

Andreas Athanasiou is apparently not no good. I hope he stays around 0.5 ppg, which would have more than justified his $3 million QO that Holland and the Oilers cheaped out on.

To be fair, 2nd(or later) rounders have no value to until they leave the Oilers' possession.

Seeing on TSN that Tippet is putting McLotto and Raisaitl back together and moving the Tenderness back to C the 2nd line. Guaranteed this is Connor not being happy with his linemates while Leon gets the only decent wingers, I'm convinced that's why they split up the DRY line that was so successful. He can't have been happy losing the scoring title to a teammate while he plays with bums like Kassian and various waiver wire guys. I get the feeling he isn't overly happy with how his career is being handled.

Those guys play together half the time anyway despite what Oiler fanboys and fanboy media say

Drai wins the hart with McDavid on his ####ing team and 70% of his points with him on the ice

Man Oilers fans are lippy these days, good lord..

For a team who's always beating their chest about their esteemed championship history and 5 Cups, notice how they're all acting like "new money" once they finally start getting some wins.. act like you've been there before, if you're this successful of a franchise like you always claim.

They barely beat the Flames who struggle with the Sens right now...have zero chance at beating the Leafs in a 7 game series as we saw last week. (The Leafs who will likely get murdered in round 3)

congrats on having "two MVPs" (like that makes sense) and being mediocre at best.

Yeah.... I was not impressed by them.

They just loaded up their top line like years past, because the team is still inept with them spread out. The team will go as far as Mike Smith's confidence and thats a precarious thing the larger the sample size gets.

Top heavy one line team with putrid depth at all positions and questionable goaltending. Like every other year. What makes them think this time will be different when the approach has not changed at all? Especially after you get manhandled by Toronto's depth three games straight.

When I said the same to gloating Edmonton-based friends/family over the weekend, I have been informed that the Flames have lost to Ottawa twice this year (it was prior to last night's game), which "is much worse than losing to Toronto 3 straight"...so I guess that's that.

Glad we got to the bottom of that one, I guess that means the Oilers will be just fine come playoff time, based on that comparison..

They got Ottawa in the midst of their worst hockey though. If the Flames played them in their 2-12 stretch Ottawa probably would've made them look as good as they did the Oilers or Canucks who were playing as poorly.

Think they'll be surprised at how much they'll have to work to get points out Ottawa this week. Not the same team. Wouldn't be surprised if Ottawa takes a couple from them.

Oh I agree, I'm just relating what the cocky mouth-breathers are saying up there now. It's so annoying haha.

I can't wait until they get dusted in the playoffs so I can send a "6 years of McDavid wasted hahaha" text to all of em the second the clock hits zero (that's when they usually send em to me).

Would love to see them hit the skids as Mike Smith gradually falls back to earth and miss by a point when all is said and done.

Would also love for the Flames to take like 5 of 6 to help get them there.

Sutter's Flames were 11-2-4 v the Oilers. 30-6-7 since 2003.

For those that enjoy a bit of nostalgia from time to time allow me to briefly take you back to a time when even Staples himself was echoing Edmonton is no good.

OILERS WORST TEAM IN NHL!
Author of the articleavid Staples • Edmonton Journal
Publishing date:Nov 06, 2007

https://edmontonjournal.com/sports/h...st-team-in-nhl

I wouldn't advise subjecting your IQ to the near fatal blow of actually reading the article, but link posted for posterity.

We agree David, Edmonton is indeed, No Good.

Anyone know if this is former sixth overall and Oiler draft bust Steve Kelly going around cracking skulls as a piece of #### CPS member? He is a member of the police but it’s a common name.

Evidence from Const. Steve Kelly’s body-worn camera showed Saunders rolling down his window after the officer and his partner, Jordan Kochan, approached.

Six seconds after Saunders rolled down his window, Kelly grabbed him by the head and neck, and four seconds later started punching him, Fradsham noted.
If so, sad to think that if the Oilers didn’t ruin this guy too maybe our police force is a little bit better without him on it...
