A Canadian soldier killed in a live-fire training exercise at the Wainwright military base Friday night has been identified as a 29-year-old man from New Westminster, B.C.
Cpl. James Choi, a trained infantry soldier with the Royal Westminster Regiment, died from a gunshot wound sustained during the training.

The Canadian military has launched an administrative review and is considering disciplinary action after a Toronto-area reservist appeared in uniform and spoke at an anti-pandemic lockdown rally over the weekend.
Appearing before the rally, Officer Cadet Lesley Kenderesi warned against what he described as "a killer vaccine" and said it was "criminal" to administer it to people.
He urged members of the Armed Forces — truck drivers and engineers who would be involved in transporting the life-saving vaccine — not to follow what he claimed would be an "unlawful order" to distribute the vaccine.

I always find it incredible that flakes like this manage to last any length of time in the service. Though to be honest, I had to deal with my share of nut jobs when I was in.
When he marched out in full uniform with the knife on his webbing. I just cringed and knew that he was willing to probably see the end of his "Career" because it was his 15 seconds of fame.

Really? I'd guess at least 30% of my FB feed is current and ex military and there's a hell of a lot that are pretty flaky. The amount of anti vax, covidiots, anti trudeau that I have on my feed is over the top.
I know a lot of people in fairly high positions and they are not immune to being flaky. However I attribute a lot to the fact The Libs are in power and they can do no right in a lot of people's eyes.

I don't know about your circles or mine, but I don't see as much of the anti-vax or covidiots in the people that I still talk to though the majority are ex.
The Anti-Trudeau sentiment in the military is earned, not because of his economic policy or anything like that as much as a massive mistrust of the Liberals over the policies concerning the military that effect their day to day jobs.
There's as much as a general mistrust with Conservatives because with the exception of some momentum from the Harper government in terms of modernization and purchases, the Conservatives have fouled up the Military in terms of spending and procurement as well.
The treatment of veterans and retired member doesn't exactly create party loyalty either.
Outside of Trudeau the Senior who most Military members hated with a passion because PET looked at the Military with a massive amount of disdain. They didn't like Chretien because they felt that he was actively trying to get them killed in terms of kit and deployments.

But the project has already faced delays and significant increases in cost as the price tag has climbed from an original $14 billion estimate to around $70 billion.
Has there been something else published because I don't know why Irving is all fired up. The Government, DND and the RCN have been very clear with their messaging this year. That is, there will be 15 ships, no less, no more. There will only be one variant and they will all perform the same role.
At $70B, in my opinion there is no way that the Government can afford both the CSC and new fighter at the same time. I suspect they cancel CSC and buy more AOPS.
