I guess I'm getting lucky on my road sections, St. George's Drive is pretty much clear except for the edges, same with 11th and 12th street NE.

Ya, I'm talking about ones like 6th st NW that don't see much traffic. And the pathway down the bluff is just barely rideable. After this warmth I think it will be full luge track tomorrow.

I went for a ride on Sunday, and it was a slog getting out of new Brighton. The snow on my street was churned up and chunky. And then the ice on the sidewalks, was enough to set off level 4 puckering.
Once I got out of the hood it was awesome. Rode the south single track out to heritage pointe and the snow was very boot packed thanks to all those dog walkers.
Came back along the path. It was a nice 27k ride.
Also was first ride with a new handle bar ( race face carbon sixc with 20mm rise) and the new bontranger montrose saddle.
All three of my bikes now have the same saddle and same grips. This saddle feels like Jenna Jameson herself is cupping my gluteus whilst i bang off the km’s

Holy carp. I had to come home early and that north wind is brutal. Hope you have face protection...

to me that is the benchmark with respect to the comfort of a quality saddle.

I switched up the glasses for goggles this morning, snow pants went back on too. Looking forward to the tailwind and then crosswind.

Habernac toughing it out like a champ yesterday afternoon heading north, I got a slight taste of it this morning but it was still about 20 knots stronger yesterday.

Not as bad as my brain was trying to tell me it was going to be before I left. Not a big fan of 10th st in this weather though. Might see if the luge run has gotten grippier after this snow for tomorrow. Other than the invincible Bigtime, any other frost bikers make it this morning?

I wimped out. Immediately regretted it after I got in the car having to deal with traffic. Also needed to organize my gear after skiing this weekend, so I was not very prepared this morning.
Good on you guys out there at -21c!

Was running late today, forgot my goggles. Realized as I was riding away from my house I also forgot my sunglasses. Frozen eyes is not a pleasant feeling.

Brrrr....Toes felt that one a bit!
Worth it for the view of Calgary riding along Crescent Heights though, downtown looks awesome in the crisp air with wisps of steam coming from the rooftops. No, I didn't stop to take a picture.

I was thinking the same thing about downtown, it looked simply awesome this morning. I bet had I taken my iphone out of the pillowcases in my bag (to keep it warm) to take a photo it would have died pretty quick!

Nice out there this morning, I think some more plows/scrapers have been hitting the paths. Nose creek was almost completely cleared to pavement from Telus Spark up to Fox Hollow crossing.
Roads that still had snow are nice and hard but icy. Love how at an intersection I can get up and going faster than most vehicles thanks to my studded tires.
