Default BritBox launches in Canada

There’s a new streaming service that features shows from the BBC and ITV. It has a bunch of classics like “Dr Who”, “Black Adder” and “Are You Being Served.”

There’s only a 7 day trial and then it’s $8.99 a month. A lot of this content used to be on Netflix so it kinda sucks to have to pay a separate fee to see it, but that’s the way the industry is going. I’ll probably subscribe once in awhile but I can’t see having it full time unless they add recently-aired shows, something they promise to do.

The mobile app has Chromecast support and there’s an Apple TV app.

What are some of the newer British crime dramas? I am only familiar with the older ones from the 90s, like "Prime Suspect" and "Cracker", that I thought were great.

Some of the more recent ones on Netflix are Happy Valley, Broadchurch, the Fall and Scott and Bailey.

McMafia is coming to AMC in a couple of weeks. I heard that it is quite good.

I hope they leave the newer British crime dramas on Netflix instead, I don't want any more streaming service subscriptions.

Yes, Shetland is another good one. Takes place in Scotland, so British

It looks like BritBox is owned by BBC and ITV so I think you will see less going to Netflix.
