Bump.

PRLR opened up, it used to be the old source building. I went on Wednesday and it was fantastic, decor is amazing. Drinks are a bit pricey but they are great cocktails.

Here, have a Canadian Aviation Regulation busting drone video of Sunnyside and the 10th street area:

Here now. Nice bar, basically no table space though so it's the kind of place I would not want to be in if it's full. Menu is a fine start but probably needs to be twice as long - easy task to double the classics portion but the originals will come along as well in time. The challenge they face is limited space for ingredients behind the bar; could probably use a few more rum and gin options and definitely need a few more brandys / cognacs. Hope it stays steady as it's my type of place, can definitely see wandering down here on weeknights.

Not anywhere close to Proof's level as a cocktail bar but overall quite happy to have it in the neighbourhood.

EDIT: oh, and the music selection gets an 11/10.

I was surprised to see what a big room PRLR is in the back.

The gossip is they are every worried about the lack of customers so far.

I talked to the guys and they're saying it's reasonably busy, but not what you'd expect from a new bar that just opened up. Which to me just speaks to unreasonable expectations. It's never going to be pigeonhole or proof or... whatever. This isn't a 17th avenue joint, it's in Kensington, you set it up there now and as these new condo developments fill out you have a fairly steady supply of local customers.

That's exactly what I thought when I first stepped into PRLR. It has a massive room in the back, I opted to sit at the bar.

Music I agree was top notch.

Its one of my new spots to go to, Oak tree is my favorite but its hard to find a night that doesn't include cover. I usually go during the afternoon now on a weekend.

Check out my pal's photo log of Sunnyside, he has some pretty awesome facts about the area/members of the area.

I've been following him on twitter for this, neat little snapshots into the community.

Fantastic. Skimmed through all of the pages, and this one caught my eye. Beautiful in its heart and simplicity:

Tenth Street Landing, formerly FATS, finally has a web-site:

Reviews on Yelp not very good.

I go there frequently. Beer is cold. Food not so great. Prices are okay.

Anecdotally I've noticed a lot less traffic there since it changed from FATS. Is it relatively busy? Had a brunch there earlier this year and it was ok, nothing special.

Oh and of note Burger 320 is up and running in their new location on 10th street. I've yet to go soon but hope to do that this weekend.

About 5-6 years ago there was a Pho place located next to that filthy hippy coffee hangout in Kensington, on 10th st.

It closed, does anyone know if it re-open somewhere else in the city?

I get they are supposed to be some sort of "hip" place, but man I walk past there twice a day to and from work and have zero desire to go inside. I have no idea what it is outside of some sort of bar.

Terrible curb appeal.

I think the Vietnamese place is still there.

Oh right that place!

So many changes in that little strip in the past 3 years, I still miss the Chinese restaurant that was formally the barber shop I believe.

I had a steak sandwich there a couple of weeks ago, it was sub-par at best. I don't know if the kitchen changed with the name but it's not great, especially if they're trying to push themselves as a 'gastropub' (I hate that term).

Tenth Street Landing sounds like the useless name for the building that looks like a strip mall and not like the name of a pub. I've never heard of a pub or restaurant with Landing in the name. Could work at an airport.
