I'm referring to the hedge funds and proprietary trading firms, not MMs.

Yeah quite a major halt. Last updated price was 30 minutes back. Weird, since the crazy fluctuations had slowed down quite a bit for the last hour before the halt (albeit they probably had minor halts during that hour)

Yes when it resumes, orders will be filled assuming the resumption price hasn't gone above what you originally submitted.

Okay, different conversation.
But any professional traders that sold call options would have had stops in place - they would not maintain open risk for entire positions. That is how you lose all of your capital, your firm, and your grandchildrens' education.
The bottom line is that, with respect to the options market, most positions in place are hedged, except for the open, long positions. And those positions result in selling, not buying.
