I thought Alonso was done at the end of 2018?!?! Maybe he's reconsidering retirement. And fireworks would be an understatement...lol. I'd love to see those two try and follow some sense of team work. Would also be great to see Danny Ric racing Max in a rival car.

Hulk is confirmed as the other Renault driver. Sainz could be without a drive next year. Could go to RBR. But doesn’t have many options.
There are rumours Max has veto power in his RBR contract over the other driver.
Oh and Force India has been put into administration. There were rumours Stroll’s dad would buy the team but I don’t think that’s happening. So Perez and Ocon may both be looking for new teams next year.

Tons of stuff has happened since this thread was bumped a month ago.
But today pics of the 2021 car concepts have been released. Will likely look quite a bit different when it finally arrives, but cool to see nonetheless.

Why did they use Daytona for the track?

Really like the new concepts. They needed to get rid of the ridiculous front wings and all the small winglets etc. Hopefully these new wings help narrow the field a bit. Heard they also simplified the rear wing and made both smaller. Bigger issue was they are apparently not changing any engine specs, so expect a Mercedes / Ferrari led pack. Wonder if they'll narrow the cars a bit as well. They are so wide now.
Just watched qualifying for Singapore. My god did Hamilton lay down a flier. Was ~3.5s faster than last years pole. Just an amazing run. But his biggest fear has to be Mad Max P2 and doing something stupid into turn 1. Williams continues to be atrocious.

Well Singapore was certainly boring. Little excitement with Mad Max having a very strong race. Had 1 chance to catch Hamilton when they caught some lapped traffic, but it was never in doubt that Mercedes would walk away with this race. Cant believe how bad Ferrari was, relative to Merc, in this race. Thought they'd have the pace to keep up, but couldnt get their tires to temp quick enough.
Force India had a trainwreck of day again. Ocon got squeezed out by Perez and hit the wall. Then Perez couldnt get passed Sirotkin for a few laps so basically Vettel'd (Baku on Hamilton) him when he did get past.

Ocon and Perez seem to screw each other over more than any other teammates not on RedBull.
Question: With Force India being purchased by Lance's father, is there a chance of a team name change? It would be cool to have Canada in the name.

Yeah, and poor Ocon has no ride yet for next year. Despite being a solid driver IMO.
And I know Williams is a terrible car, but Stroll just strikes me as a complete silver spooned ######. I can not stand him, despite really, REALLY wanting a Canadian in F1. And with his dad buying his way through F2/F1 and now owning Force India...

They are, I was going to say Daytonas road track is like the old Indy F1 track where it went reverse into a tight right just before turn 4. It's not, so that photo is wack.
Daytona's road course laps the same direction as Nascar. Just the left turn is just before turn 1.

Just read on Motorsport.com that third cars are back on the agenda for F1. I really think this is a good move. More cars = better racing.

That was one of the best races I’ve seen in years. Congrats Kimi. Just amazing start to finish.

Yep, that was a very entertaining race. Stoked for Raikkonen. Still a bit surprised Hamilton couldnt do more with his better tires towards the end. I'm really looking forward to him battling Mad Max next year.
It's been uncanny how Vettel loses every single time there is contact with another car. I cant remember one incident this year where he was relatively unimpeded. It seems like he gets spun out every time there is contact.
And my god do I feel bad for Danny Ric...just a completely unreliable power unit for him this year. Would've loved to his braking prowess in the late stages.
I also can't believe how bad Williams is. Stroll was by FAR the slowest car out there.

Had to laugh at Verstappen running over the 2nd place marker on the track after qualifying. Almost seemed like a "#### you, I'm pissed I didn't get pole" move.
