Haula, Morrow and Sautner are scrubs, at least this season. Kronwall may yet retire, no?

I think Calgary is giving away better pieces plus he's giving $. I dont like it and I vote yes to most every deal.

the way that I see it -

Eberle for Haula is banking on a resurgence from Haula. Haula has an incredible contract and can easily bounce back to the 72 he was last year

Tanev for Schneider is a positional need thing. Both guys are relatively the same rating for their position and are one-year rentals. I just paid a 2nd for Tanev and I doubt Schneider could get a 2nd

Morrow for Petan - defense for forward. I need more AHL forwards, Calgary needs AHL defense

Sautner was a contract thing, I need to clear contracts

Kronwall for Caggiula and a 4th - He clears $1.5 here and gets a defenseman with a pretty good rating. Kronwall becomes his best defenseman (and I believe Yzerman has said he is leaning toward returning for another year). Caggiula is a 66, a downgrade, hence the pick

Seems fair to me.. I think Tanev is the best player in the deal. Haula could end up having one of the best contracts in the cphl. If Kronwall doesn't retire, he's a very serviceable player next year.

What's the net cap in/out including what's being sent?

If the cap is even this isn't a bad deal for Calgary. They have way too much cap allocated to goalies, so moving a goalie out and replacing with a dman (Tanev) helps build out a roster. Having Schneider and Bob makes no sense

Calgary clears 1.5 million in this deal. It's not even, I take on salary

Yeah, I view it as a roster rebalancing on my end.

I get a little cap cleared and flip out Schneider for Tanev. Give it up the forwards a little.

Yeah i like it then. There aren't a lot of landing spots for Schneider. This is a good deal for both teams. Before folks vote just on the trade on paper, look at what the Flames have. They don't need Schneider. They need roster players. This deal accomplishes that.
