In 18-19 he was Captain of the Nova Scotia CWG team. I am talking about that age and the following two seasons. The 20-21 season he put up 23 points in only 34 games as a 17 year old in the q, pretty good numbers. More that he was dramatically a plus player.
Steady decline since then.

Beck had 2a,+3 in a 5-1 win over Barrie. 45gp/12g/41a/53pts,+34, 16 PIM, 7th in plus/minus. Ottawa is still the class of the OHL, and are 10 points ahead in the standings from the next best team.
No Whynot, as the Mooseheads defeat Charlottetown, 10-5. Halifax is second in the league behind Quebec.
Huckins had no points,-1 in a 5-4 OT win over Victoriaville. 64gp/28g/30a/58pts,+33, 79 PIM, tied for 28th in plus/minus. Sherbrooke is tied for 1st in the West with Gatineau, and 3rd in the Q.
No points for Ciona,-1 in a 3-1 loss to Portland. 63gp/28g/47a/75pts,+47, 85 PIM, tied for 28th in scoring, 11th in plus/minus. Winnipeg has been crowned Regular Season Champions, Seattle is first in the West, and second overall. I still think Seattle will be Champs in the playoffs, and maybe the Memorial Cup.
Bell gets 1g, and was +1 in a 2-1 SO win over the Chiefs. He missed his chance in the SO. 55gp/25g/39a/64pts,+4, 65 PIM. Tri-City is 5th in the West, 10th overall.

Ottawa rebounds in a big way, with a 9-0 win, to go up 3-1 in their series against Oshawa. Beck was 2nd star, with 1g, 3a, +4. 4gp/3g/5a/8pts,+5, 8 PIM. He is tied for 3rd in OHL Playoff scoring. Teammate, and draft-eligible LW Luca Pinelli is 2nd in scoring, with 11 points in 4 games.
LA prospect, Barrie D Brandt Clarke leads the playoffs in scoring, with 14 points in 4 games. This, after piling up a whopping 61 points in just 31 regular-season games. Astounding! I can't remember ever seeing a season like that from a defenseman in the CHL, with almost 2 ppg.

Meanwhile out east, my team the Kitchener Rangers, 8th seed in the playoffs, took out the 1 seed Windsor Spitfires and their hired gun, Shane Wright, who got 3 points in 4 games and was -6, in 4 straight.
The Kitchener Rangers have become the only eighth-seed OHL team to sweep a first-round playoff series against the first-place team.
Now we have London.

Congratulations Cheese!
Shane Wright is sure taking a ton of flak from fans and media. Something is not right there- or should I say, something is not “Wright” there….

Prince George takes out Tri-City, 4-2 in the series, by way of a 5-4 OT win. Bell gets 1a,+1, and finishes the playoffs at 6gp/2g/3a/5pts,even, 2 PIM, good for 4th on the Amerks. Ryan Pike suspects he will join the Wranglers on an ATO.
Chase Wheatcroft gets the game-winner in OT, and was first star. He finishes the series with 5 points in 6 games. Second star was draft eligible beauty Riley Heidt, with 1g and 2a, for 6 points in 6 playoff games.
Another two draft-eligible beauts:
D Lukas Dragicevic had 4 assists in 6 games.
RW Koehn Ziemmer, also an amazing prospect, had 2 assists for 5 points in 6 games. It's a solid bet that all 3 of Heidt, Dragicevic, and Ziemmer will go in the first round of this year's draft.
