Fair enough. ESPN feed inferred it was called strike, but yeah - he may have broke plain.
I got nothing - just am really sad.

Probably the worst blue jays game I’ve ever seen.

Berrios definitely would have come in had they gone to extras. Alternatively, he likely would have piggy backed with Strip in game 3 if they had come back to win in the bottom of the 9th…mainly out of sheer necessity.

I can't even believe they lost that game. It took a total meltdown of almost the entire bullpen who was lights out all year to lose. What are the odds?

This is going to sting for a long time. I only hope it gives these young guys some motivation to come back harder and more prepared next year. Brutal way to go down.

Lights out? The bullpen was mostly bad this year... Until the last month o to two.

I actually left the house after seeing the Jays up 8-1. Came home and saw the final score.

Ouch.

As Forrest Gump would say, Berrios and the bullpen were like a box of chocolates. You never knew what you were going to get.

Isn't sports fandom fun?

Haha

130 games of inconsistent, mostly infuriating baseball.
32 games of clutch ball down the stretch
1 game of pure frustration
1 game of absolute heart break

Good times

9th best bullpen ERA in the AL. Middle of the pack. A full run higher than the Astros pen, which I would refer to as lights out.

In hindsight, yeah Gausman wouldn't have bounced his next pitch liked Maiza did, and worst case scenario he gives up 3 runs as Maiza did.

That's a tough call to make considering he was back in form that inning and needed that one out to get out of the inning.

But Romano gets 2 strike outs and then the desired 2 out flyball pop up at 9-6 and lands in the exact worst spot, is just really terrible luck, to score 3 runs no less.

Pulling your 150 million $ man after getting 2 outs makes no sense unless you are bringing in a lights out stud.

It would have made more sense to pull him with bases loaded and no outs . But he’s battles back and then you pull him ??

The last 10 outs were as pathetic as you will ever witness and there are no excuses

Schneider didn't lose the game, the bullpen lost the game. The players have to execute and do their jobs.

Mayza caused a 4 run inning. And then Bass got no one out. Romano actually pitched very well in the 8th, but that blooper was perfectly placed. A few feet deeper, Springer gets it. A few feet shorter, Bichette gets to it. A little higher pop up, Springer gets under it. Perfectly placed - and with 2 outs, all the runners are moving. If there was only one out, they would have all had to wait to see if it was caught, and they wouldn't have scored 3 runs.

Only way to describe it: Toronto curse.

Flew in to watch these games. Unreal amount of disappointment! At least today the offence got going and there was a ton of energy in the building. Crazy experience being in that atmosphere and experiencing live playoff baseball. Crazy amount of momentum swings and heartache today. Felt it in my gut after Tapia just missed that diving catch in left that things might swing hard. Wild from there on. Hard to even say, but next year jays. Back to Alberta soon. Bring on hockey. Go flames go!

It wasn’t a great season though.

It was a really frustrating and disappointing season. The Jays should have won the division but we all accepted it early on it was the Yankees to lose.

They had a good season, albeit inconsistent and unpredictable. Take that recipe in to a nonsense 3 game series and this can happen.

The way they lost isn’t too shocking. This happens during a 3 game series in July and nobody cares.

But yeah, this hurts regardless. You couldn’t have drawn it up much worse than this.

Same.

But not surprising at all. Toronto sports never disappoints.
