I admittedly like barrie more than brodie for our team, but I wouldn't spend over 5 mil on either.

Give him sheltered minutes, lots of PP time and offensive zone starts, he will help a team. The issue is at what $$ figure is that of interest to the team and the player. Im guessing those are two very different numbers.
I watched him play a lot when I was living with an Avs fan, and I am not convinced he is worth the amount that he will get paid. He is a very one dimensional player. If you could sign him for 4 or 5 mil it would be worth it. but he will get paid way north of that.

I think Barrie will take a shorter term deal at a decent price. After the Toronto disaster he'll want to show he's still got more to offer, which I think he does. I really liked him with the Avalanche, but after getting moved to Toronto he was just miserable with the media pummeling him constantly.

I am more and more convinced Tanev is coming out way. Barrie is going to be priced out.

I just don't see Barrie "bouncing back" his Colorado numbers coincided with the prime of his career. 29/ 30 will be the last of his good hockey, what price is that worth? 6m? hell no.

If we can't sign Brodie, I hope we land Barrie. If Barrie is too expensive, then circle back to Brodie.

That'd be my question.
Unlike the playoffs, Hamonic would actually be getting paid to do his job in-season. If a team was honestly that callous about how terrified people have rightly been of this outbreak, then I would seriously question whether or not I would even want to work for them.

sounds like the Flames are out on Barrie

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Discussions underway this morning between Tyson Barrie and the three primary teams with interest. Tight squeeze for the Oilers, but a good fit. Vancouver is eager to land Barrie and Colorado is in the mix as well. All short term.

If Colorado is in on a short term I would be shocked if he didn't go back there for multiple reasons.
