Another 1G/1A game for Coronato as Harvard defeated RPI 5-1. They play again tomorrow with a make-up game from January against Princeton (the game was originally postponed due to a COVID outbreak on the Princeton team). Harvard will be the #3 seed in the ECAC tournament, meaning they will have a bye next week and will play the week after.

Nodler had 1G in MSU's 2-1 win over Penn State. Mattson also got to play in what could be his final college game (although, with the eligibility extension that was granted due to COVID, I believe he could come back for one more year) -- he was drafted the same year as Tkachuk, who will be playing his 400th NHL game tonight. MSU will play their rival, powerhouse Michigan in the Big-10 tournament next week. They must win or their season will be over.

Boltmann had no points in Notre Dame's 2-1 win over Michigan (which dropped the Wolverines to the #2 seed in the Big-10, forcing them into next week's matchup with MSU). Michigan only lost 9 games all season and Notre Dame won 4 of them (ND went 4-0 against the Wolverines). Notre Dame will be the #3 seed in the Big-10 tournament, playing next week. They are currently solidly positioned to qualify for the NCAA tournament, so next week isn't a must-win for them.

Coronato now has 25 pts in 27 games; 13 goals, 12 assists. He is tied for the lead at Harvard in goal scoring and is 3rd in pts, just 1 pt behind the leaders in one less game.

He is 9th among all NCAA Div. I freshmen in points/game
These numbers are very similar to the freshmen seasons for Matt Beniers (24 pts in 24 games) and Kent Johnson (27 pts in 26 games).

MSU loses 2 straight to Michigan this weekend and their season is done.
  • Nodler finishes his 3rd year with 7G/8A/15P in 36 total games. He was tied for the 4th-most goals on the team and had the 6th-most points.

  • Mattson finishes his 4th year with 1G/2A/3P in 22 total games.

I believe with the changes the NCAA made for eligibility last year because of COVID, Mattson could come back for one more year and Nodler could play two more. I don't anticipate either one being offered a contract this year.

Notre Dame beat Wisconsin on Saturday to tie their best-of-three series at 1. Boltmann had no points. The deciding game will be played on Sunday. Even if Notre Dame loses, their record is still likely strong-enough to make the NCAA tournament, so their season won't be over yet.

Harvard has a bye this week and ASU is off this week. They'll play their final games next weekend against Long Island.

Notre Dame beat Wisconsin on Sunday to advance to the Big 10 semifinal next week against Michigan. Boltmann had no points.

Michigan has only lost 9 games all season, but 4 of them were to Notre Dame, so it's not an ideal matchup for the Wolverines. It is a one game playoff and the winner will advance to the Big 10 Final the following week.

Harvard will play RPI next week in the ECAC Quarterfinals. This is a best-of-three series. The winner will advance to the semifinals the following week.

This isn't really surprising since he has missed a lot of time this season due to injury and the NCAA changed the rules for COVID to give everyone an additional year of eligibility.

Also, he grew up in Arizona and is probably looking forward to being on the team that opens their new arena next year.

Harvard was losing 3-0 late in the 3rd; pull the goalie with ~5 min remaining, and score 3 goals with the goalie pulled to tie the game.
Coronato with the game tying goal, with 15 sec remaining

Then Harvard wins in OT

Coronato's tying goal

Don't know why but I think Coronoto is signing this off season. I really think he is a one year and Done college player.

Michigan defeated Notre Dame on Saturday night. This means the Irish are eliminated from the Big 10 playoffs. They will qualify for the NCAA Tournament, which starts in two weeks.

Harvard lost in double OT and their best-of-three series is tied. Tomorrow is game 3, and it's a must-win for the Crimson.

ASU played their final game at Oceanside Arena on Saturday. They move into their new building next season. Koumontzis hasn't played a game since January 7 and he will return to play his Senior year 2.0 next year.
