He also causes ‘some’. Not sure if that is league leading.

LOL.

Bottom line is the roster needs a big time re-set.

Trading Brodie certainly makes the most sense as far as return and not dismantling the entire defense.

Up front the same thing. Needs to be some big changes. The culture of the team is no good. Identify who causes that and get them out.

The untouchable list on this club should be very very short. 2 or 3 names. Doesnt mean you trade everyone else, but you certainly send some of them packing and try again.

If the Flames had more forward depth and a better record Hamilton would be in the Norris convo IMO

He can still improve but is the least of our worries

He's better there but who moves? Hamilton? Hamonic? Andersson? Fox?

Stone is a given but thats only if no one is promoted.

Amazing what that little change can do eh? Whoever said that Brodie was owed an apology for derailing his career is right. I remember the crowd chanting his name and it was well deserved. He's 27, in his prime and can be great.

Yep. I'm down with Brodie to the right again. How can anyone think otherwise?

Hopefully the injury isn't too bad. Brodie was really turning his season around I thought, and looking a heck of a lot like Brodie did 2 seasons ago. Terrible timing for this to happen.

I for one hope that the Flames don't trade Brodie. Get a coach who allows Brodie to play the way he is comfortable, and he becomes a huge game-changer. He can make the Flames so dangerous to play against with how quickly he can move the puck up.

One thing that jumps out at me is just how amazing TJ's backhand pass is. Playing him on the left side effectively neutralizes it.
I'm so sad that we've wasted two years, two years of development, two years of good hockey, two years in the prime of our best players.

There should be absolutely no moves until we know who the next coach is, what style that coach uses, who that coach is able to get more from and who that coach wants on his roster. I say all of this about the coach because in order to lure one of the top coaching prospects, I believe we will need to offer some control. Joel Quenville had most of his success with a young roster similar to what the flames have right now. Back the truck up for him and let him have some say in the roster that is formed.

I hope Brodie gets healthy soon. I don't want Brodie traded because this is the type of player he is. This team desperately needs a style of play with that maximizes this kind of dynamic ability.

You rarely see any D up in play anymore. TJ didn't suddenly lose ability. Watching that video, it's stunning to see his full talent.

It's really not hard. Put Brodie on the right side. I don't get anything that Gulutzan does. I was on Gully's side originally when everyone wanted him gone, but after this constant losing with nothing changing, he's gotta go.

This is derailing into another Gulutzan discussion, but I'm not sure I've seen a more stubborn coach since Greg Gilbert.

Not only with Brodie and the pairings, but with the forward lines too. We've caught glimpses of things that could work but he keeps reverting to his "set" lines. Tkachuk with Bennett, Tkachuk with Gaudreau and Monahan, Bennett with Gaudreau and Monahan, why not Frolik on the top line? Try some things!! The 3M line isn't so dominant that it should be non-negotiable, not this year anyway.

Remember when Darryl Sutter saw the team struggling mid-game, he'd throw the lines in a blender, see what works. Sometimes that sparks a team. Yeah by the end of May in 2004 we had more than less set lines but that's because it was working. When the team struggled, Darryl would work harder than anyone on the ice trying to find something that clicked.

Gulutzan just throws the same lines out there no matter the situation, hoping that at some point something will change by itself. So frustrating to watch. Imagine playing for that guy.

Ya, thats what hitting is.

Clean hit . Right to the chest . Leaving his feet was a result of the impact . Sack up . It was a good hit.

Gio has gotten away with hits that are more borderline.

Checking needs to be about separating puck from player. Anything more than that should be dealt with severely.
It's where the sport must go.

But more than that, even under the current rules that hit was way over the line.
Why does he need to hit him that hard?

I would say he did just that.it happened so quick the puck had barely even left Brodies stick . No chance on him being able to stop.

0/0, Flames dominating the game. Reaves clobbers a soft skilled player and changes the game. he did his job.

The flames have shown for 2 years now they have no answer for this, Gaudreau is hacked and slashed 20 times before his finger is smashed and no response that game or the next, Instead, Staal got an invite by our captain to a summer golf tourney. No heart, no passion and could care less about their teammates, the most disgusting part is the only player with any balls is barely 20 yrs old.

If a coach like Darryl Sutter was at the helm Ferland would have crushed a player like Marchessault the next shift, if he didn't he would know he wouldn't play the next game, a Sutter would remind him just because he scored 20 goals it doesn't make him a 20 goal scorer, if he wants to play with skilled players he needs to step up and protect them, make the other team think twice on targeting our skill.

Under our awful coach this team plays so soft every teams skilled players look like a reincarnated Gretzky, they play river hockey against us without fear and their 3rd-4th liners punish us into submission.

Brian Burke must be having nightmares over this team
