Hitmen trade Zane Jones to Everett for Michael Zipp. Anyone with insight on this player? His stats in the WHL look awfully underwhelming.

Hitmen trade Zane Jones (19) for Michael Zipp (17)
Don't really like this deal. I guess the Hitmen get a younger player back, but Jones was a solid depth guy.
Just doesn't seem like a move a team that is "going for it" would make. Maybe there is more to come.

Another big move for the Hitmen. They have sent Josh Thrower to Americans for Connor Rankin. He has scored 174 points in 244 WHL games. Good addition.

Rockets played their 3rd game in 3 nights in Calgary today and come out with a huge win.
Right now Kelowna, Portland and Victoria probably the most dangerous teams in the West. Not sure anyone will really challenge Calgary in the East the rest of the way.

The Hitmen were absolutely God awful last night. Full marks to Kelowna, who are the best team by far, but the Hitmen looked like a team out of sync. A lot of new players and as many expected it might take a couple games to get everyone on the same page. This was the risk in making so many trades leading up to the deadline.

I'll be taking the family to the game vs. Kamloops on Friday night. I'm sure I'll be the curse that breaks the 17 game winning streak.

Terrible defense.
Teams that don't play D don't win the playoffs.
Edmonton will make a long run again. Kelowna will probably come out of the west...maybe Victoria could take them out.
Kelowna would beat Portland in a 7 game series.

Looks like they have turned things around 8/9 wins in a row now.

I've seen Kelowna in person 5 times and wasn't impressed. Portland should beat them in 5 or 6 in a 7 game series.

Not arguing that Portland won't beat Kelowna (cause I don't have a crystal ball), but seriously, you're a Portland fan claiming to have watched the rockets play lots and claiming that they are unimpressive? Portland got their asses beat by Kelowna 4 times this year... Like epic beat downs. Are you a Portland fan in Spokane or something or did you just miss all the games where they played your team?
I respect both teams but it takes an Oilersesque arrogance to have your team get their butts kicked like that in a season series and brush the other team off as unimpressive.

Yep spot on Matty. Actual this guy is Wise Gamble who got banned from here some time ago. He's a canucks fan living in lower mainland.
Kelowna has absolutely owned Portland this year. To say they've been unimpressive is just trolling. Wonder if he'd be willing to make a bet on his prediction?
The Rockets are probably more scared to face Victoria right now. Man does Dave Lowry have a way with junior teams. The Royals play a great team game especially defensively.

Little bit of jockeying left and 1 spot in the playoffs up for grabs. Hope PA makes it, I'd like to see Draitsaitl get a series, if the Flames hang on to the 5th pick it'll probably be him or Dal Colle.
Kelowna clinched the WHL regular season title yesterday. Good article on sportnet on how the program is built philosophically by Gare Joyce here (if you haven't read Future Greats and Heartbreaks by him... do it!).

Portland in 5
Victoria in 6
Seattle in 7
PA in 7
