Marking the launch, vocalist Keenan said: “Our obsession with, and dream of, a world where BetaMax and Laser Disc rule has ended. Time for us to move on. But never fear. There’s a brand new thing we think you’re really gonna dig. It’s called digital downloads and streaming. Get ready for the future, folks!”

Unfortunately the new album is supposed to be around 85 minutes long. I hope there are some gems in there to warrant the length as even if the material is decent it’s natural that something this long can end up as a bit of a chore or snoozer.

All of their albums are 70-75 minutes long. Tool fans aren't going to complain that this one is even longer.

My biggest concern isn't with the length of the album, but also that there's only 7 tracks. There are 2 "transitions", so maybe those will eat up a lot of time, but that's an average of over 12 minutes a "song". When songs get to be that long, albums generally become more like ambient background noise or jam sessions than listenable albums of discernible songs.
Maybe I'm thinking too inside the box here, but I would have preferred at least a few punchier songs in the 5 minute range. That being said "Schism" is over 7 minutes long and in no way seems that long.

Im not sure what to think on the vocals but overall it’s a great song. The drums are killer. You know it’s a banger when after 10 minutes you’re left wanting more and you immediately hit replay.

From what I have heard so far from their live performances, I think the song Invincible is going to be one of their greatest of all time. Yup I said it!
If you haven't heard it yet, check it out on youtube, it's absolutely amazing!
Listened to the song twice first thing in the morning on headphones and its been running through my head ever since. I'm a huge fan of Lateralus and it seems almost like a direct line to that album. Can't wait to hear this with the entire album.

yeah it really flies by. Love the percussions especially, song reminds me of "Reflection" ... and something else I can't put me finger on right now. But really solid, can't wait for the whole thing.
Looking at the track list, Track 7 is marked with an E... hoping it's a banger along the lines of Hooker with a Penis or Ticks and Leeches. Loves me some angry MJK.
Edit: @MJK... is that what your user name is from?
