I'm not going to tell a Marine that his wife's name is unfortunate

Do the marines have a rank of "Master"? Curious for my own reasons...

Or just Google ‘Norma Bates’ — have any of you actually seen the movie/show?

Oh yeah I forgot it was his moms name. I've only watched the original and iirc she was only really ever referred too as 'mother' not her full name. Has been a while though

cool, but anyone notice how getzlaf thanked the sergeant for keeping "our country safe".
guess he is no longer eligible for team canada - although i suppose it not longer matters given the no olympic competition anymore

His wife is American and he spends over half his year living in the US. Why would him thanking a US sergeant have anything to do with his eligibility to play for Team Canada? A lot of Canadians end up becoming US citizens and live in the US after their NHL careers are over.

Yeah, it's most likely using wording that makes sense. He lives here, as do I, so in that sense it's "our country". Given the sergeant is American, and "your country" would be very awkward sounding, it seems very reasonable how he said it.

I generally think gender reveals are silly, but good on him for participating if that's what the couple wanted. He has long been my favourite non-flame. Love the guy.

I used to like him as a player, but over the last few seasons he's become such a whiny little b**ch, especially when calls aren't going the Ducks' way. I can't stand him anymore and I hope he retires soon. And he can take that dirtbag Perry with him.
