Heat down 4-1 after 2 periods, manage to tie it late in the 3rd 4-4.

Mainly due to Andersson who has 2g + 1a in the 3rd. Heat took over the 3rd with a 18-3 shot advantage.

edit: now off to OT.

Yeah Andersson needs to be in the NHL full time. Haven’t seen the video of the last goal but the assist was a beauty.

Shinkaruk wins it in OT 5-4 Heat to complete the comeback. Kylington with the assist

McDonald's first AHL win. 25 saves on 29 shots. Although I think he would want the 2nd goal back for sure and looked kind of shaky at times.

Goals:
Tanner Glass (2) ASST: Oliver Kylington (22), Dalton Prout (2)
Austin Carroll (4) ASST: Rasmus Andersson (24), Tyler Wotherspoon (24)
Rasmus Andersson (5) ASST: Andrew Mangiapane (21), Tanner Glass (3)
Rasmus Andersson (6) ASST: Hunter Shinkaruk (10)
Hunter Shinkaruk (13) ASST: Oliver Kylington (23), Brett Findlay (11)

Well done lads. Listened for a bit when they were down but didn't catch the comeback.

I was curious so I took a quick look at Falkovsky's stats this year.

This year for LA's AHL team he has 3G+4A in 30 games. Kylington for reference has 2G+23A in 40, and Andersson 6G+24A in 41.

Those are very impressive numbers for Kylington and Andersson. Can't imagine many AHL teams have two defenceman on pace for 55 pts (in 80 games). Even more impressive that they play on different pairings.

I have said many times on CP. We had enough prospect depth to trade for Hamonic. We will recoup one or more of those picks in a future draft anyways.

Its almost certain now that BT will trade one of his R shot roster Dmen this offseason/early next season in a position of strength and recoup a high pick as Rasmus is ready. Cannot see it being Hamilton.

Unreal move by ?Andersson? for the 2nd Heat goal.

The hard work by Mangiapane behind the net for the 3rd goal was even better.

With Andersson and Kylington getting all the attention Wotherspoon must feel like the invisible man with 6G + 24A in 45GP, good for a 53pt pace over 80 games.

Oh, and he's leading the team in +/- at +21

Pretty sure he has felt that way for a while now. Kulak passed him over in the depth chart a few years ago and he has cleared waivers for two years in a row now. Even if there is an injury on the left hand side, Bart seems likely to get ice time before Wotherspoon.

He is going to be UFA at the end of the season, and I am pretty sure he is going to try his luck with another organization this summer.

Yeah it's too bad, Spoon isn't a bad d-man, but he just failed to impress whenever he got called up.

Maybe he'll thrive in a different organization, or maybe he's just one of those players that's a really good AHL player but can't take his game to the next level. I think he could also have a long and decent career in Europe too.

Heat win back to back games against SJ 2-1 in regulation.

New addition Colin Smith making his presence felt with the top line centering Mangiapane and Foo. McDonald 25 saves on 26 shots.

Andrew Mangiapane (19) ASST: Colin Smith (14), Spencer Foo (13
Spencer Foo (13) ASST: Colin Smith (15), Andrew Mangiapane (22) (PP)

Man I hope Mangiapane and Foo can become productive NHLers.

Would really help the depth scoring without having to go out and overpay for it via trades or free agency.

Wow Kylington is all over these highlights. Moves the puck very fast. He’s kind of been under the radar but he’s by far our most dynamic prospect I think. His skating ability is ridiculous

Both he and anderson have top 4 potential. They are playing some great hockey, Wotherspoon also has been lights out all season.
