and then Bennett being a 19 year old with no NHL experience coming off a serious injury was one of the Flames best players in his first playoffs.

He might be a great playoff performer but guys that work as hard as him on a regular basis lose their competitive advantage against the regular players who shift into another gear for the playoffs.

One problem I see with the Backlund and Frolik's numbers without Tkachuk is the Flames fell out of the playoff race for most of the games Tkachuk has been hurt and Monahan and Gaudreau were out for a lot of the games too

Backlund was all of a sudden our #1 center on a deflated team with your top 3 forwards all out. Hardly can blame him for not playing as good as normal

Teams in similar boats as the Flames. Stars, Canes, NYI, Rangers. Teams that were in the race for most of the season and have a late season meltdown tend to have players who don't play their normal game. I think this also why you see teams in the bottom 7-8 teams that been out for a long time play better. They probably are just beating up on the recently eliminated deflated teams

Glad to hear he's feeling better but he needs to go get healed up and ready for next year under a new coach.

I hope they give him an A next year and in a few years the "C" as this guy i predict will be the talk of the team for years to come.
