I would be surprised if the Sharks don't take runs at Talbot, like teams did against Price in 2014.
Note: I'm Not saying I want this to happen. I just recall this being a strategy teams were willing to take.

Burns outscores McDavid and we see a lot of this guy scored pictures.

I think a lot depends upon how the nhl advises referees to call the series.
if we see calls similar to what has happened all season, then the greasers have a big advantage. if we see playoff refereeing, then I think the sharks use their playoff experience and they have the advantage.
this goes to the powerplays and the PK, and also to the extra attention that certain greasers will attract.
if the sharks lose, I do think that the balance of power is moving away from California with only the Ducks representing...both LA and the Sharks are getting a bit long in the tooth and will need to consider rebuilds.
on goaltending, I do think that martin jones can play better than Talbot, although if greaser D stands strong then it might be a bit of a wash in net.
do both coaches know enough about each team? I am sure that one coach intimately knows the other team...
i'm thinking that the nhl has fulfilled all of its obligations to the oilies and we will see playoff refereeing.
sharks in 6. McDavid a finalist for the Conn Smythe anyways.
I live near shelbyville, and the coverage is absolutely nauseating already.

Yes - very transparent I know.
I think it's a toss-up really. SJ's playoff experience is definitely a factor. But even if Couture and Thornton are ready to go for game one, how healthy/effective will they be?

Burns' scoring really tailed off in the final quarter of the season. He'll need to ramp it up if the Sharks are to have a chance.

Watch by next season they're going to claim they invented it and accuse the Flyers of copying them.
They should call theirs the Orange Koolaid to be original.

I want San Jose to win, but I just don't see it. They're not clicking. 3/6 of their leaders are banged up or over the hill. They had a long, deep run last year and maybe their current streak is stamina based. I just don't think they have the gas in the tank.
Oil in 5.

Haven't heard but I'm pretty sure Thornton will be back and it wouldn't shock me to see Couture get in there as well. Also Joel Ward. If I'm Edmonton I worry about him getting the sneaky goals. Sharks in 6

When Burn scoring fell off MVP pace the Sharks essentially tanked.

I think the Oilers play a style of game that is conducive to getting the best out of the Flames who match up well against good skating teams. Not sure the Flames would beat the Oilers but I think they would provide a steeper challenge than the Sharks.

The Oilers have ended the season with a very soft schedule, still they should win in 6 games.

My Oilers hate aside, the Orange jerseys were and are dumb. They've had a franchise for a long time and the blue jersey has been their hallmark for many years. Its become a tradition. Why abandon that? Real Madrid has been wearing white for 100 years.
Oiler hate fully switched back on: Sharks can beat them with a simple plan. Vlasic is glued to McDavid and you work him all game long and between whistles. Todd Maclellan has no other option but to play him 28 minutes and he'll run out of gas in a hurry constantly being molested by sharks players. Sharks forwards pester Talbot, and Burns roams free and the sharks win in 5.

Sharks in 3.
The Oilers will be the first team to forfeit a playoff game and then apologize for even qualifying in the first place.
Then the NHL will officially record this series as a 'Bye' for the Sharks in the history books and we shall all deny that this ever happened.
