weird game. Arsenal are playing quite well, but United will feel unlucky to be down 1-0 having hit the post and crossbar already while De Gea had a howler.

Finely balanced game. No issues with DeGea on that goal. Took a wicked swerve right at the start wrong footing him. Commentators with a silly statement saying he guessed.
When I look at Moss that phrase butcher's dog comes to mind.

That's a dive.
But get Fred off anyway.

the softest of soft penalties. English refs are the worst.

Never a penalty. I just don’t get how consistently bad soccer referees are.
But, having been screwed over many times by referees against United, I’ll take it.

Lifetime Suspension

That attack was one of the worst I've seen. There was also an attack up in Scotland on a Rangers player Friday night too also earlier this year with millwall fans
British football is going through a bad time right now

I really hope they start suspensions/fines for diving/embellishment. The sport needs to be cleaned up.
As an Arsenal fan, that was truly embarrassing.
Good win by the team today to jump into a top 4 spot though.

The problem is that if you’re John Moss and you see that replay today, you know you got conned. So the next game something that’s actually a penalty that happens and you’re more hesitant because you don’t want to look like an idiot two weeks in a row.
And of course even if it’s legitimate and you don’t go down, you don’t get the call. I don’t know how you get that out of the game, but we’ve all seen incidents where players are “too honest” and maybe could’ve had a penalty. Refs would have to start calling that also I think.

The refs actually encourage diving. Many real penalties never get called because although a foul occurs that prevents a goal, it almost never gets called unless a player goes down like he has been clotheslined by The Rock.
Edit: what that Spurs loving #&@£ said.

They showed Moss' view/perspective which I thought was really interesting and I can see why he called it in that moment, but when he reviews that hes going to be pissed that he got conned.

This is intriguing. Perhaps they should have some sort of public pillory where, if they were adjudged to have conned the ref they have to stand in Piccadilly Circus and get clotheslined by The Rock right there in public.
I think that'd make players think twice.

I think we should begin with Lacazette today and then decide how it’s working out.

It would be very easy to retrospectively punish the most obvious dives. Sure, a crappy result may stand, but it would at least act as some deterrent.

Can't blame the ref too much on that particular penalty. They do have VAR available and it could be reviewed, but his angle was not the best.
Suspensions/fines later on can make players stop/reduce diving. It almost serves as an end game red card at that point. I hope CPL is a bit stricter in this regard.
This will be a more long term improvement in the sport, as opposed to short term in-game fair reffing, but better than nothing
