Meh. He hasn't really been "on" since the championship season, except maybe a game here and there.

When you just don't know when to shut your mouth.....
Quote:
I caused a bit of a stir over the weekend when I said I could have done what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done at Manchester United, but let me explain a bit more what I was getting at.
With nine wins from 10 games as United's interim boss, Ole has been absolutely fantastic. He has lifted the cloud from over Old Trafford, and the team is playing a lot better than they were under Jose Mourinho.
But the point I was trying to make on 'Saturday Morning Savage' was that we all knew the problems United had under Mourinho and, as a manager, I know it is relatively simple to solve them in the short-term.
I am not just a pundit who has never managed a club - I have managed in the Premier League and all four English professional divisions, so no-one can say I don't know what I am talking about here.
And, as a manager, I could see the signs that under Mourinho the players were not happy and the atmosphere and environment was not great. Let's be honest, everyone could see that.
My argument was that it was easy for whoever came in after that to right the ship, and lift the players and the dressing room - and put the whole club back on track.
When I said anyone could have come in and done the same, I did not mean to be disrespectful to Ole.
What I meant was any manager - for example myself, Mark Hughes or Steve Bruce - could have recognised the issues at Old Trafford and come in and changed the environment in a positive way.
There is far more to it than just bringing some of the fun back, but you would start by allowing the players to play with freedom, and in their correct positions too.
Ole has done all of that and has obviously made a big difference.
With his results, he has then taken it on to the next level too - but even that improvement does not mean he is the right man to get the job in the summer.

Not a hope in hell Bruce, Hughes or Ince could have replicated what OGS has done, particularly the latter.
He fails to mention he was a crap manager, fired multiple times and quitting on other occasions when things got rough, aka "bottling" it.

Uh oh. Looks like that cushion is gone for Liverpool! No big deal, it’s only little wee Bournemouth coming in on Saturday. What could possibly go wrong?

The wait goes on.

Tottenham's Premier League match against north London rivals Arsenal on 2 March will take place at Wembley because their new stadium is not ready.
Spurs were originally scheduled to move into the new ground in September but the project has suffered construction and "safety systems" delays.
The club recently said their new stadium would not be ready to host matches until at least March.
"Thank you all for bearing with us," said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

I think that game is too early to be at the new ground in part because it could be hostile, and not the kind of thing they wanted to host there too soon. Who knows at this point though. The rumour is that they should be ready partway through March, but that could be entirely made-up. I do wonder what recourse there is though. It's an enormous project and at this time last year they were taking deposits for seasons tickets. Clearly someone screwed this up somewhere and it's cost a lot of money...there have to be repercussions.

the body has been retrieved and identified as Emiliano Sala. As terrible as all of this has been, at least his family can get some sort of closure.
meanwhile Nantes and Cardiff are fighting about the transfer fee. Nantes wants the first installment as agreed upon, Cardiff want all details of the crash first because of insurance reasons. The fact that Bordeaux is entitled to half of the money (due to a sell-on clause) doesn't help.

yeah it's a head scratcher for sure. They are way too generous when it comes to handing out new contracts, and way too reluctant when it comes to letting part time players go. I wonder if potential Brexit ramifications have played a role here though.
Lindelöf is first choice right now, Smalling and Jones have re-signed and should be backups. If they still sign a new CB and get rid of Rojo and/or Bailly, that's fine with me.

Lindelof can’t make ball winning tackles, with his face.

Man palace are frustrating to watch this year. Just dominating this game.. Feels like they need about 15 chances per goal

Arsenal used to be an irrelevance in the Champions League.
Now we’re reduced to being an irrelevance in the Premier League.
Thanks Stan for making me want the Pats to win the Super Bowl
