I think he's clearly been a step behind, but it's improving

Just saw Jagr again. GG was taking him walking down Stephen Ave into The Guild. Tall blonde lady with them. Jagr had a giant grin on his face looked like a kid looking around at stuff. My brain didn't register until almost after he walked past me. It gave me a big grin too like I was a kid again looking at my Jagr rookie card.

Does anyone know how Jagr got the nickname "The Goat"??
Tried to google it with no results...

I think it's just the generic ridiculous new acronym "Greatest of all time" despite goat actually being the player blamed for a bad play/losing a game for decades.

Can't believe no one has answered this yet. Obviously it's greatest of all time.

According to grammarphobia.com, LL Cool J first used "GOAT" to mean Greatest Of All Time in 2000 --> "The earliest example we could find for the term used as an acronym is an album by the American rapper LL Cool J entitled “G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time),” released on Sept. 12, 2000... In “The G.O.A.T.” track on the album, LL Cool J (a k a James Todd Smith) repeatedly says, “I’m the G.O.A.T.” (pronounced “goat”) and “the greatest of all time.” " ... With this new discovery, I will no longer accept GOAT to mean greatest of all time.
Edit: Beat me to it.

Is this the reason why Game Takes now use the term "The Heel" instead of "The Goat"?
Haha, imagine being called out on game takes to wear the goat horns, but mistaken to be the Greatest of all time.

I wonder if Ali ever called himself GOAT?
Closest I could find so far:
“I’m not the greatest, I’m the double greatest.”
"I am the greatest! I'm the greatest thing that ever lived."

Apparently he called himself the Greatest of all time but never used the acronym GOAT... Work has been very productive today, clearly.
