Nah, I think Denis should just play this out and tries to enjoy his time on court now. That would be a healthy way to approach this.

Rafa does have a terrible tie break record in Australia the last couple of years. If Dennis focuses on his serve this isn't over by any stretch

The block return that was working so well has disappeared today.

It would be nice to see a tiebreak at some point in this match.

Despite the double faults, Rafa has served very well in this match.

Welp, didn't see that coming. Nice job Denis. Hope he can hang in there. I'd still like to see a tiebreak.

Note that Khachanov took the third set off Nadal after going down by two and Nadal proceeded to breadstick him, so let's see what Denis can do here.

How about a 10 point super breaker in the 5th set

That's a big hold by Shapo considering his first serve was missing in that game.

Yeah, two huge points from 30-30 that he really had to hit great shots to put away. Big service game for Nadal coming up too.

Denis playing with fire, but staying in front and applying some scoreboard pressure.

For a second there I thought Rafa got two straight netcords to the good. That second one was VERY close to going over.

Can anyone tell me what the deal is with those AO Melbourne towels in the corners? Are the players obligated to lay those out perfectly if they use them?

Time violation and then a double fault gives Shapo the break.
