Time to age yourselves, where were you when the verdict came in?

I was listening to it on a radio in D Hallway at St. Francis with a few friends.

If Norm MacDonald were still with us, I’m sure he’d have some good takes.

I was 8, and I remember the trial being on TV vividly.

Chemistry class, we had a TV in the room so we watched it live.

Our teacher had one of those portable TV's back in the day, so she got the antenna right and we were able to watch the verdict. Outside 9/11 pretty much the seminal moment of the last 30 years, it basically created reality TV, even if unwittingly.

I was at an orthodontist appointment in the NW. It's all the waiting area was talking about.

Damn, this is a tough one. RIP OJ.

Most people remember him for his career as a football player, but he had a really great second career as a character actor in a long list of true crime documentaries.

The good die young.

I’m actually pretty shocked. Nobody has to disclose their medical history but he popped up in random internet videos every now and then. Seemed healthy and I didn’t even think of him as 76 years old.

A lot of people know where they were for when the verdict was given. I was probably grade 6 and we were in the school library watching it on the portable tv. Things that would never fly today in schools. Anyway, that and September 11th are probably the only two events in where were you when it happened history in my life. Maybe Michael Jackson and Kobe Bryant’s passing too but not quite.

I think I was 7 when the King riots happened.

Which is a shame, I heard it was a pretty good riot.

I do have vague recollections of the OJ chase, but I think the trial is fuzzier for me because it just went on and on and on...so its hard to remember exactly when and where I was for the verdict.

And then theres more confusion between the Criminal Verdict and the ensuing Civil one.

I do remember, being the noted cynic that I am, laughing when I heard they found him not guilty.

Like...how much more do you want him to do to convince you he did it? Did he need to stab her on live TV on the steps of City Hall?
