I dont want that topic to permeate every facet of the board, but this is exactly what I've been discussing amongst my friends and family.

All this does is drive the situations underground, and whats worse (better?) is that this process has practice.

So…Rashomon then.

I was surprised at how good the Black Phone ended up being.

Probably the best abduction movie since Prisoners. Forget the horror aspects, it's just a good, disturbing, well-written film. Impressive child actor performances too, kind of reminiscent of the first IT remake. Usually Blumhouse films meander into goofy horror territory. But this one really drives home the gravity of the situation for the abducted. Well done, Scott Derrickson.

Time Bandits is a fever dream of a movie. I'm on a Terry Gilliam kick right now.

I didn’t mind it. I thought each retelling of the story was distinctly different enough to keep it entertaining and engaging. You could see why each character would feel differently about how everything played out and why there would be feelings of being slighted or confused about being the target of such animosity.

The final scenes were pretty tense. If it weren’t for the final tale as told from her perspective, I might have leaned differently in how I hoped it would conclude.

Anyone seen the "Elvis" movie? If so, what did you think?

RRR is really fantastic. Great action, story, music, and of course, dancing.

Meh...

I like Austin Butler a lot in it, but I felt like Hanks was doing a revision of the Goldmember character. It bordered on ridiculous. Hard to say that about Hanks, but it's true. It's a bad performance.

The film is Baz Luhrman at his best and worst. Interesting visuals and a unique style, but little to no regard for plot, and only a superficial attempt at developing character.

If you've got nothing better to do, or you really like Elvis, check it out. Otherwise, spend your time doing something else.

He's such an interesting fellow, here are a few recommendations from the man himself....don't worry it's in English

It was decent, but I think it was too focused on Col. Tom Parker (Tom Hanks) also the rap music took me out of the environment of the 1950s, but I expected that from Baz and has been a pet peeve of mine with all his films. There were a few things that never actually happened as well, but historical accuracy wasn’t the goal. I had my doubts about Butler, but he pulled it off pretty well, which isn’t an easy thing to do. I agree that Tom Hanks was over the top… Goldmember meets The Penguin. If you’re an Elvis fan you will enjoy it… I did… but it is what it is… an over the top Baz Luhrmann film.

That reminds me of the classic rock soundtrack in A Knight's Tale.

Except I loved that.
