I think we all know that Brouwer is playing here for full season. Doesn't mean people don't have full reason to vent and pick their whipping boy early. It's what we do here.

No, they don't have full reason to vent on their whipping boy three games into the pre-season. That's so unreasonable, it merits space in the dictionary.

To be fair, I am accounting that Kulak's partner was Bartkowski in the game that Kulak was horrendous. There were a few atrocious plays during the game that Wotherspoon did that almost cost a goal. I'm just not a fan.
I will also say that Wotherspoon at least this preseason has been better than Kulak.
Whatever the case, whether Kulak, Wotherspoon or Anderson wins out the #6 spots, I just hope Bartkowski is nowhere in the picture and I think everyone can at least agree on that one.

Especially since last night I actually thought he played pretty well.
Right now the only legitimate gripe against Brouwer imo is that he's overpaid.

Got it. Thanks captain serious. Not sure what the dictionary entry would be.
Brouwer is enough of a vet and paid adequately to take some heat. Dude needs to show more this year.

Unreasonable: adj; angst and vitriol caused by ten year NHL veterans perceived to be underperforming after four pre-season games.

Gulutzan says chances are Dube will get to play another pre-season game.
Don't read too much into the groups at practice with respect to opening day roster, Gulutzan moved 3-4 guys to the 2nd group because the first group was practicing specialty teams. The 3-4 guys don't play on specialty teams and they would get more puck touches in the 2nd group as they focused on skills development.

That has to be the strategy. Also wondering if his minimal preseason play also is part of that strategy. If he plays well he gets noticed and does not clear waivers.
He needs a full year in AHL to show he can stay on track and produce. I like our chances he clears waivers.

Yeah I doubt he gets claimed regardless. So i can't see anythjng happening now being related to them managing that risk since the risk is likely nil.

I was at the game last night and Wotherapoon played very well. He played much better than Kulak and much, much better than Bartkowski who I watched on Wednesday. I think Bartkowski actually hurt Kulak on Wednesday. There is something wrong with the evaluations if Bartkowski is kept up and one of Kulak and Wotherspoon is sent down. I am scared that Gully will keep Bartkowski up because of his Canuck connection.

I knew Mangiapanne will go back to Stockton but I wish I could have seen more of him in the pre-season games. It looks the Flames brass still think Kylington need more seasoning in the AHL. He is still very young and he needs to play more games and Stockton will give him that.

Does Poirier really need a super secret plan to clear waivers? If he could help another NHL team, seems he could help the Flames.

Fair point. I just hope his disappearance from pre-season is not due to a relapse in his road to recovery. Hopefully Big Ern is keeping a watchful eye.

That's been the elephant in the back of my mind as well. I hope all is well and haven't really wanted to speculate.

Treliving could be worried Bergevin steals another from him on the waiver wire like he did Byron?

If Poirier is as good as Byron he should be playing though shouldn't he? And not hidden in Stockton.

Why on earth are people worried about someone claiming Emile?
He had 6 goals and 17 points in the AHL last year.
He had 12 goals the year before.

I think it's coming from a desire to explain why he's still on the team but not playing much
Edit:
Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Tweaked something lower body. Nothing serious, team just being cautious. #Flames
