Default Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2022 - Round 16 Run Off

Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!

As per usual ...

1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to rookie camp range
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

Stromgren is younger, taller, and has a better draft pedigree. I think he has a slight edge over Nikolaev.

I like both players, but Nik is further developed and has the defensive chops to perhaps give him a better chance to play in the NHL. He's like a poor-man's Backlund.

Most pundits/publications that I have seen have Stromgren in our top-10.

Took the center over the winger.
Nikolaev plays a very solid 200 ft game; has very good playmaking skills. Having seen him play a few times, I think Backlund is a very good stylistic comparison

From the report: Strömgren uses crossovers to both gain speed and separation, and his edges allow him to carve through cover with ease.

I’ve watched sportsnet and I know just how phenomenal and important crossovers are; commentators and videos alike have convinced me. Stromgren gets my vote!

60-59

The center with the high floor! Don't know if his ceiling is high but the kids going to play in the NHL. I'm figuring Nikolaev is a 3rd line center on deep team. Could carve out a #2c in a rebuild .

Such a close vote. If the poll hadn’t closed and as the days progress, would have been interesting to see if the voting determines an actual winner.
