I actually think Huberdeau can do wonders for Dube the way he did for Bennett. That’s why I would be curious to try the following pairs for forwards:
Mangiapane - Lindholm
Huberdeau - Dube - (probably Toffoli)
Backlund - Coleman

The Hockey Guy posted his season preview. It's a good summary of what we all pretty much already know.
This guy is by far and away my favourite hockey channel. You can tell the guy actually watches games from teams around the league instead of just stat watch.

Does it seem if Tofolli has been getting into Sutter required shape during the off-season?
I think this is the wild card of regular NHL players in our line up.
If he is in shape we should have very good top 2 lines. If not I think the club needs to look hard at Pelletier, Zary, or Phillips.
Unfortunately Monahan has been trending down notwithstanding stats he had with Gaudreau before they were decimated by Colorado. I do not see the Moneyhands of old whatsoever.

Reason: thought I typed Zary originally
Pretty good analysis from someone who doesn't follow the Flames minus the mispronouncing of Kylington and maybe underrated Tanev a bit, though he's right that he is old.

Yeah. We’ve seen a lot of random hockey channels/podcasts pop up, but The Hockey Guy makes himself stand out because he never talks about things like he knows more than he actually knows.
He’s not trying to pretend and be a TSN analyst like so many of these random channels do, and it just works. He’s just a hockey fan (and hockey jersey fan) who watches a lot of hockey and discusses how he see things. It’s refreshing.

To each their own. I have no time for him at all, personally. I just find him bland and mundane. He offers no actual analysis, he simply reads facts back to you - and they aren't interesting, well researched facts, they are straight out of the newspaper. I don't need someone to tell me how many goals and assists Lindholm got last year, or what Markstrom's GAA was.
I just don't get why he has such a following.

Yes he has his whiteboard with all the game facts (so and so had an assist, so and so had a turnover, etc.) and he just reads them off with very little analysis or color which is why I watch Youtube commentaries - otherwise I could read all the game summaries in half the time. I'll watch his individual segments where he talks about specific teams or players, etc. but the nightly game summaries don't bring much for me.
Not sure why we would break up mangi Backlund and Coleman.
Only players that showed up in the playoffs.
Not in a rush to sign anyone either. Monahan, Dube, Ruzicka, and Pelletier are all question marks. See if you can make a third l iine out of them.
If Monahan can't contribute, shut him down at the deadline and find a center upgrade
I would like to see Pelletier with Backlund/Coleman. Would be a good pairing for him to learn with. Put Mangiapane with a different pairing to try to get some offence going there.
Still think we need one more piece. Maybe even a skilled player like Milano would be good with Mangiapane.
With the 2nd hip surgery Monahan likely is not going to be useful.
I know I've been down on this but I really do not see Monahan returning to any pre-2019 form.
The sooner the Flames can move on the better. He has been a Warrior for the club.
If he returns to be a 2C I'd gladly eat my words; but I think he slows down anyone he'd be with.
Pelletier definitely should get a look in the big leagues.

Don't really want to stack the top line though with Hub - Lind - Mangi
Which doesn't leave much options on where to put Mangi, should be getting more minutes this year.
you should look in the mirror and worry about yourself.. you fight for scraps in Canada - I've got it made keep tap dancing for a bunch of guys son - I've got it good where it counts boy
