I'm pretty stoked that I tuned in this inning! Great at bat from Gurriel to get the RBI single, and home runs from Teo and Jansen.

Thank goodness that streak is over.

Hopefully they can go on a tear now.

You can add Nick Frasso to the list, with Ricky Tiedeman, of Jays prospect pitchers with massive upside.

Quote:
Frasso dominates in return from surgery (May 14)
Nick Frasso, the Blue Jays’ fourth-round pick in the 2020 MLB Draft, made his ’22 debut Saturday with Single-A Dunedin. Frasso underwent surgery last summer to repair his right UCL with an internal brace, which is a less invasive form of Tommy John surgery with a shorter recovery time.

Frasso's debut was fantastic, with eight strikeouts over three innings of shutout ball. Most encouraging was Frasso’s fastball velocity, which averaged 97.5 mph but reached as high as 100.3. With 12 whiffs on 19 fastballs and six whiffs on eight sliders, Frasso missed bats at an elite rate. His workload will be monitored as he builds back up, but this was a very encouraging first step for the 23-year-old. -- Keegan Matheson

Haha, so I was looking at the Dunedin box score because of Frasso, and here is something you don't see every day.

The Dunedin Jays used 3 pitchers in todays game, and combined they struck out 24 of 27 outs recorded.

Frasso had 8 in 3 IP
Santos had 10 in 4 IP
Scott had 6 in 2 IP

They also gave up 2 hits, 5 walks on 0 runs combined in a 1-0 win.

FYI Santos is a 19 year old with 99 K's in 60.1 IP in his minor league career so far.

So Matt Chapman vs Corey Kluber last year was 5 for 5 with 2 homers and 2 doubles.

I guess Kluber not starting. Thought he was.

Bichette and Guerrero with 2 hard hit balls but of course Rays D with great plays.

Jays hitting line drives all over the place. Just right into gloves. Checks out.

It’s a good thing that Chapman can play a great 3B because he sucks at hitting
