It was more of a joke about July 1 2010 when Daryl Sutter had all the TSN analysts scratching their heads about bringing back these two players.

Hathaway for sure.
I’d love to still have Hamilton but if that means we’d have to give up Lindholm then no thanks.
Other than that the rest of them are replaceable.

analysts are dumb though...both those ended up being good moves
Trading a guy about to become a UFA and then getting him back is a shrewd move. I mean he could have made better trades but both guys lived up to their contracts when brought back

Hamilton is the only actually good player. Concerned about fit issue though.

Hathaway, Comeau, Byron, Kulak and Fanta, I would welcome back assuming we aren't saddled with their current contracts. Also, I would welcome guys like Adam Fox and Laurent Brossoit back, even though they never technically played a regular season game for us.

Not saying I'm all that eager to have him back but is anyone else staggered at how prolific Curtis McElhinney's career has been? Been some time since he's been a flame. I recall him being underwhelming at best but obviously he's doing something right.
Edit: was a 6th round pick in 2002, holy crap.

That's a ####ty list outside of one or two. Pretty typical of flames teams in the Treliving era though. The flames are one of the last stops/last stop on their way out of the NHL for a surprising amount of players and coaches. I'm honestly not a fan of our pro scouts reading a list like that. BT would better off firing them all and going off of nhl20 player ratings instead lol

- Micheal Ferland, Canucks winger
- Dougie Hamilton, Hurricanes defenseman
- Paul Byron, Canadiens forward
- Brett Kulak, Canadiens defenseman
- Garnet Hathaway, Capitals winger
This is the group I would consider bringing back.

Only hamilton would move the needle imo. And we'd have to subtract a big peice to make it work. BT's entire trade legacy is built off of two dougie hamilton trades, its kind of funny.

There's nothing worth complimenting at the moment really outside of 4 or 5 pretty good players and Tkachuk. And every team has a few decent players and a guy of Tkachuk's quality.I was a big BT fan at first and really excited about the rebuild 7 years ago. Now we are stalled out, directionless and going no where. Not even sure how they get out of this. They are going to draft 10-20 for the foreseeable future, we have no prospects (comparatively) and we have a GM who seemingly has no answer for it other than trading picks away for average players.
