Nah. People said the same thing when contracts expired for Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig, Amy Poehler, etc.. SNL will continue to survive just like it always has.

I agree, but I don't know how it will be when Lorne leaves. I suppose it is such a machine that it will continue on.

Yea, the show really is a NY/American institution at this point. If Lorne ever decides to leave, I have no doubt that it would continue in some form with a new producer.

I always wondered about that. I think she can funny from time to time. Do people really like her a lot?
Stares at the camera too much and she thinks she is funny, which is offputting for me.
Thought she was good in something like Ghostbusters where she is in a limited role, but can’t imagine wanting to watch a movie with her as a lead
(Wholly disagree the show ends with her. It has survived many, many greater talents moving on)

I'm just watching it now and he was in the opening credits.

I assumed they didn't say his name as foreshadowing to his digital short about Pete Davidson lol.

Not a great show this week, but Pete Davidson making fun of Kanye on Weekend Update was the highlight of the night. The "emergency alert" commercial made me chuckle as well.
Best line of the night was from the GOP celebration sketch:
"Republicans read the mood of the country, and we could tell the people wanted Kavanaugh. Everyone is pumped--from white men over 60 to white men over 70."

A couple weeks late to the party, but this Adam Driver old oilman sketch is one of the better ones I've seen in years:

Yeah, I was super disappointed with this week. Too much of Heidi Gardner is never good.

It's not because of too much of Gardner. It's because of too much of partisan politics. Just simply way too much. It's no longer funny and it's not at all entertaining. Why have Seth Myers hosting to begin with? He's really bad at acting. He's got a talk show five days a week and has a tribune to voice his political opinions freely. SNL hosting appearance did not add any different angle to his public persona. There was no good reason for him to host, period. It was incredibly boring and unimaginative episode. Even Paul Simon couldn't save it.

Gardner is used much more than Villasenor - was surprised they brought Melissa back, and made her a full cast member.

Pretty hard to top the original Kanye visit, in terms of laughs and over the top hi jinx...
People actually listen and like his 'music'? haha
