I remember hating American's livery when it came out, now I can't get enough. The 787 looks unbelievably good over there.

So I presume they need to fix whatever the issue was with the hydraulics before flying it back to DFW or wherever.

Air India flight managed to hit a bunch of stuff on takeoff, pilots reported nothing was wrong and flew 4 hours before diverting for an early landing.

While I definitely think the pilots were completely in the wrong, wouldn't they have had to fly around to burn off fuel anyway?

VOTR-OMDB is 1,586nm, or about 100nm longer than YYC-YYZ. With a planned flight of that distance, they would have been carrying a decent amount of fuel, and the B737 has no ability to dump fuel, as far as I know.

That said, however, with the damage they took, I would imagine a pilot would want to land as soon as humanly possible, even if it was over max landing weight. Where's our resident 737 pilot, lol? (Paging Ryan Coke...)

Mumbai is also only 1.5 hours away, and Dubai is a 4 hour flight from that airport. So either they did, in fact, fly around to dump fuel (but then why say the diversion was a "precaution", rather than declaring an emergency?), or they flew halfway to Dubai before deciding to turn around.

LOL...just saw this in my Google feed. They flew halfway to Dubai before turning around...probably ordered back by flight operations.

Pilot- "everything is fine from my side, no problems here"
Ground crew- "these pieces of fuselage we are looking at indicates otherwise, suggest you land ASAP."
pilot- poop comes out.

TUI Airways Boeing 757 lands in heavy crosswinds at Bristol, England after several smaller planes aborted their attempts earlier.

Sorry, don't know how to embed Twitter video

Here's some of the aborted attempts.

He didn't really land that, it was more like he got dragged to the ground by his giant balls.

Every landing is just an aborted go around.

Wondering if the resident airplane/spotter experts could help me identify a plane I saw go overhead this afternoon a short while ago. It was a 4 engine jet but the overall length of the wings looked quite short flat ended without any wingtips/winglets. Definitely a unique/strange looking plane to me.

It went overhead on its descent to land around the sunridge costco area at about 2:07pm. So I figure it probably landed around 2:10?? I didnt get a good look at the label/badge but it didnt look like anything I had seen commonly.

Thanks.

Smaller jet with high wings? If so most likely a Summit Air RJ100.

A colour could help me out too. If it was grey/dark grey it could have been military and in that case most likely a C-17 (either ours or RAF).

I came out of a store and saw it going away so I didnt get the best look at it other than noticing the somewhat unique 4 engine setup. Did not appear to be grey/military. Wish I would have gotten a better look at it.

I just looked up the RJ100 and that definitely looks similar. Thanks for the help!
