Calgary Flames Post-Game: Kings fend off the Flames
The Calgary Flames continued their swing through California on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Kings. And unfortunately for the Flames, they faced a really focused, motivated Kings team that controlled a big portion of the hockey game.

After seeing 13 games of NHL action, the Flames felt it would be best for Pelletier to spend some more time in the AHL and assigned him to the Calgary Wranglers in mid-March. Given the numbers he had produced in each of the past two seasons, most people had assumed his time in the minors was done, but this move from the Flames appears to have been a good one.

That might be the most thorough game day thread for a game like these between two bottom feeders. Amazing work as always Cheese. If only the players put half the effort into their game that you do into these...

An OTL would eliminate the Flames' chances of finishing 12th.
A regulation loss would reduce their magic number for 11th and 10th down to 1 (meaning one point gained by BUF or NJD would make them uncatchable, or one point lost by the Flames would make both uncatchable)

I can see the Ducks losing in a similar fashion to what the Sharks did on Tuesday against the Flames. Flames are pretty much stuck at 8th position for the draft. Still a chance to lose this game and hope the Sens/Habs game tomorrow goes in to OT and Habs win. This would be the ultimate fate of the Flames moving up in the draft if they lose all the remaining games - very unlikely and I see the Flames with 81 points and moving to 9th spot with Kraken sliding into 8th. Those two wins against the Kings and Sharks really suck!
