Yeah, this is very true. I remember reading something about 'The Incredibles' where the primary cast banged out the entire thing rather quickly except for Craig T. Nelson who apparently took forever.
I've seen youtube videos of Roiland prank calling places as drunken Rick so I'm guessing he was pretty proficient at it and could probably crank out his parts in no time.
That, and he switches between Rick and Morty seamlessly in real time.
I have no idea what was actually happening, but I'd imagine the voice acting can be pretty divorced from the writing process.
I also worked at a restaurant with an actress who did voice work for cartoons. She always said the actual recording was a very quick process. You don't have to set up stages, deal with wardrobe/makeup, worry about body positions, etc.... If someone makes a mistake, you just pick up a few lines earlier and keep going.
They film R&M in five episode blocks. Roiland could probably be in and out in a couple of days.

Lol. I was actually thinking of adding this clip to the thread. And from the sounds of it, Roiland was pretty much a creepier version of Krusty on set.
Roiland domestic violence case is dismissed due to insufficient evidence after new information came to light:
Quote:
According to Roiland, the suit was based on “the word of an embittered ex trying to bypass due process and get me canceled.” He tweeted that the lawsuit had ended, and that he was “determined to move forward” with his life and creative career.
...
A spokesperson for the Orange County District Attorney’s office told Kotaku that the case was dismissed “for lack of sufficient evidence to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt as a result of additional information that came to light in the investigation.”
Even if not guilty, it doesn't negate the repugnant podcast commentary thats out there, his alleged disinterest in contributing to the show, and his highly questionable activity online.
I wish him well in his quest to restore his good name. Given his ability here to demonstrate remorse, he's going to need a lot of help.

The whole trying to lure teen girls into hardcore group sex thing is still pretty bad. Even if he's not going to jail, he's definitely still a massive creep.

The Rick sounds pretty off when he's yelling, but much closer when he's just talking. I'm hoping they already had a conclusion to the major story arc in place, and it's just a matter of filling in the gaps to get there. That being said, apparently Rolland had become a pretty absentee parent through the last couple seasons anyways.
It's close enough. It's less hoarse on Rick's yelling as Roiland did it but honestly the difference is negligible and as long as the writing can be delivered with the same mannerisms & speed the it will be fine.
It reminds me of season one when the voices of the characters were still finding a groove and there was a little more inconsistency in the delivery. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Did it end up being that mortysays guy?
I didn't see who they hired in the end.
I find Rick's voice in season one pretty difficult to deal with. The constant burping, drool, and vomiting are too much. I have a pretty weak stomach for that kind of thing though.
