Baseball is a sport where you really need both development, free agency, and trading to win.

It seems like almost no one is drafted, developed, and plays with the same team. There's tons of movement in the minor leagues. International signings can be here too.

Then there's the trades to put you over the hump. Give you that extra edge for a playoff push/run.

Then of course, free agency.

Look at the Rangers:

Free Agency:
Evolaldi
Gray
Heaney
Semien
Seager

Traded as a Prospect:
Lowe
Heim
Garcia
Sborz

Drafted and Developped:
Jung
Carter

Signed international and developed
Taveras
LeClerc

Traded for when already MLB:
Garver
Scherzer
Montgomery
Chapman

This is mostly from memory so I could be wrong one a few guys. However, overall it shows you need to have players from from all over to win.

The Angel's showed that you can have the best, hell literally two best, players in baseball and do diddly squat for years.

I really wish the Jays paid Semien and kept him. He was a big part of their offense being one of the best in baseball. And he was such a pro with the way he would practice and work out.

I don't think money is why he left. He wanted to go back to the States. Just that interview with Bichette where he got emotional gave the impression the team knew he was gone no matter what.

Well this doesn’t seem good.

MLB insider Hector Gomez posted on X that new evidence has been uncovered “that further implicates (Franco) in the accusations that have been made against him of alleged relationships with minors.”

Franco’s U.S.-based attorney, Jay Reisinger, had no comment Tuesday night.

Tuesday’s report is the latest update in what has been a four-month investigation by Dominican authorities and Major League Baseball into allegations that Franco had inappropriate relationships with minors. The legal age of consent in the Dominican Republic is 18.

What a total disgusting #### bag. Had the whole world in front of him with 182 million guaranteed and likely a whole lot more. Thought he was probably untouchable and was a total predator. Glad we'll never see or hear from him again.
